Building myself back up

Saturday: GF has a class every second Saturday so went to her gym. Definitely much more packed than my local YMCA and with clientele about 30-40 years younger on average. Hate a packed gym, but the advantage is that you don't often fark around. Absolutely hammered the legs while gf was getting an auditorium to jump or whatever. Not to blow my own trumpet but I can't believe I'm together with one of those chicks. Holy shit that is cool. Anyway, no fan of the gym but great leg workout.
We then went to this swimming pool place with a whirlpool that just goes round and round. It is amazingly addictive. All it does it pull you round, but it's rather relaxing. Did that for bloody ages.
Legs killing me on Sunday, but still managed a long walk.
Swimming this morning. Not nearly as bad as the other weeks, but still tough. I think I'm getting used to it and my technique/breathing is much better. Great way to kick off the week.

Good mate. Although eldest got into another fight. This time over a girl 🤦♂️. Avoided suspension thank God. He's a good lad, but is a very slow learner. Definitely no filter between his brain and mouth.
Youngest is awesome as usual.
Both love the gf and she adores them. In fact, they'll hug her and walk past me. Yesterday, the eldest remarked how nice and tidy it was at gf's place and how untidy it was at ours. Had to be restrained from killing him. He's 90% of the reason the place doesn't look clean. But she's introducing good habits and they are anxious to please. It's funny how a woman can change the entire dynamic. Future looking pretty bright at the moment. Think I've had that bit of luck I desperately needed. Touch wood.

Where are we... Wednesday.
Tuesday was shoulders. Avoided falling weights this time and went well. Shoulders generally a good day.
Wednesday: first run for a while (slack) but went OK. Usual 10 laps with pullups and leg raises inbetween. Will be interesting to see how the swimming goes tonight.
-
Swimming last night. Wasn't an utter cnut this time so must be getting a bit used to it. Absolutely smashed the spag bol afterwards.
Today: Chest and biceps. Not rushed this time, so nailed it. Very good workout.

Catch up as usual.
Felt I got the balance right this week and might do it this way going forward. That includes the eating as well. Bit difficult to know when to hit the weights, when to do cardio and when and what to eat. Been feeling really fatigued and weak heading into Friday and that's never good.
Anyway, ran on Friday instead of doing weights and then smashed the weights on Saturday. Felt great because the body had been given a little break from the tin and on Saturday was desperate to gets my pump on. Ate well, but was still pretty active with housework on Sunday and then swimming went really well this morning.
Going to try and replicate this and see how I go. Ultimately it just means more carbs and switching a day around. Sometimes a bit of tweaking is all that's required.

@rancid-schnitzel can be good to swap around weights session depending on energy levels. I do that a bit with legs, if I've had a mad day or am still fatigued etc I often move it back a day. Sometimes that extra days recovery makes a big difference.

Ha ha.
On the contrary, she places massive demands on my energy reserves. Need to eat and lift more tin or I'll waste away! It's pretty farking cool 😁. -

Whilst your old mate MN5 isn't quite at Arnie levels I think its fair to say his opinion is wrong.

If getting a pump was like coming then I'd fall asleep after my first few sets!

TR doesnt like when @MN5 talks about himself in the 3rd person.

So....
Did legs on Monday night. Have to up my game in this department. Youngest was giving me shit about my chicken legs the other day. Brutally honest little shit. It's not like I don't train legs regularly, but maybe the intensity isn't there? Maybe genetics? Whatever, I will double my efforts.
Tuesday: shoulder. Very nice.
Wednesday: Humid as a mofo. Did runs plus pullups etc on the moro and was supposed to have swimming that night. But having psyched myself up for it, I found it was cancelled because of a bit of bloody lightning. Was very pissed off. I had my togs on and everything.Thursday: Chest and biceps. Very nice.
Going to shoot for Friday morning swim. It's 5am which is an utter cnut, but I'm kind of addicted. Such awesome training.
-
Up at 4:30 for swimming!
Wasn't too bad actually but reckon I'll hit the wall pretty soon. Great way to start the day though.
-
@rancid-schnitzel 4.30am!! jaysus mate, that's early and I've got a 2 year old lol

Won't make a habit of it. Absolutely knackered!
-
I always found if I did a workout in the morning, I felt so good for most of the day but do hit the wall late in the workday.
If I am awake when my alarm goes off at 6.45 I am annoyed haha
-
Swimming this morning. Absolutely wrecked. No legs tonight. Not gonna happen. Will try to double up tomorrow.
-
Pretty good week, but seem to have fooked my back a bit. Not very sore but very stiff. Hopefully nothing serious. Will piss me off because I'm on a bit of a roll. Reluctantly ditched training this morning and had a bath. Yes, I know. Will shoot for swimming tomorrow and then see how the weekend goes. Unlike some of you guys, I don't do injured well at all!!!
-
@rancid-schnitzel back stuff can come right pretty fast if its just overtraining etc. If it doesn't feel like you've tweaked something a couple of days off or lighter stuff might see it right. Are you rolling out etc? Maybe a decent sports massage could be an option.
