I can't see that's enough to address their tight five. If form is a guide, the Canes will be well beaten.

Is there something wrong upstairs with Plumtree? How can you pick the same tight five and expect different results. Matttee Blackwell is not a lock, bring in IWL. Tiatia, Blackwell, May, Riccitelli, Eves, Toomaga Allen, Prinsep, Judd, Garden Bachop, Goosen. Man we are going to struggle this year.

What have Aumua, Ben Nicholas, Cridge etc done to piss Plumtree off?

Not sure, @Stargazer might have a better idea ... I was more implying Pouri Rakete-Stones could have got a shot.

@Nepia Tim Farrell, nor Pouri Rakete-Stones have played PS or development games for the Canes, so go figure. I'm more pissed off - surprise, surprise - that Jonah Lowe has been overlooked again after great performances during PS and development games. He either scores tries or helps others score them. What more do they want. Instead, again, bloody Goosen is on the bench.

Farrell probably still injured? Why don't they try Lowe at Fullback? Tiatia was beyond average in the game I watched him against the Crusaders in Levin. He has no gas what so ever.

The frustration is high at the fact these coaches can't spot talent for shit.

Plumtree used to play for HB too, you'd think he'd throw his former team a bone.

@Canes4life tiatia was the best by a long shot in his coms and organisation v Crusaders development so could see why he would be picked over Lowe or Rayasi after the last performance.

@98blueandgold he was made to look like a fool on numerous occasions by the likes of Ennor and Havili. The most notable being right infront of us where he was well out of position in the Crusaders cross field kick that lead to that Mataele try. He was also slow covering the backfield.

I would rather someone like Lowe who actually has gas to finish tries off and is also a good communicator.

@Canes4life Agree he is not the greatest option but was just stating that putting my coach hat on from watching the last performance (V Crusaders development) Tiatia showed more than Lowe. In that game Lowe did not show a lot and both Tiatia and Rayasi looked much better options. (Again just on last performance)

I find your conclusion a bit strange, considering you told us in your comments on that game that Rayasi was "on or off", was lost on defence, and that Cory Jane had to tell him where to stand the whole game.

(By the way, Rayasi scored his try from a pass from Lowe in that game v Crusaders Knights.)

I'm starting to wonder if Plumtree was ever a good coach. Selections are head-scratching .Lots of blank stares in the coaches box when they were up against the Saders, you'd expect the coach to get the message across and try to fix things going wrong at half time oranges. But no. It seemed as if Coles pulled the team together to try and scarpe BP/respectability from that match.
Does Plumtree have what it takes? I guess we'll find out in the next few rounds.

@Stargazer agreed but if was just stating if I had to rank the back three it would have gone 1. Tiatia 2. Rayasi 3. Lowe. Although Rayasi was on or off he still looked like at Super level he could have an impact if on! Lowe just could have been any club player in that game. But as stated Rayasi still a massive gamble.

it looks like Plumtree has lost the plot. He use to make sound selections when coaching Wellington but these locks selections (esp Blackwell) are so bad that I have doubts about his state of mind.

    @ShadowTrooper

He was once (a good coach) Maybe not really suited as a head coach though. But people lose the plot. One top football coach said (much later in life) they could see clearly what to do when young but towards the end they had lost that ability. It's looking more and more like Plumtree is in this position now.

@Duluth Wow, we are going to get destroyed in the forwards. Maybe this time it will get through to Plumtrees noggin.

After 2 whole games, a team in a rebuilding phase, Allblacks being "managed" and our best player on his honeymoon I definitely think it's the time to write off the coach. Time for a change.
