As good a thread as any to enquire......

Recently got both my boys into Sushi, one has always loved it, second has finally gotten on the bandwagon which makes treat day with Dad easier taking them both to one place instead of constant fights as to where we are going.

The St Pierres jingle would have you believe that Sushi is healthy but is it ? Lots of carby rice and it's held together by some sugary type substance.

I can easily demolish two sushis of the day no probs but am dubious as to how good it actually is for you. Freshly made is always extremely tasty though.

Salt and chilli chicken cauliflower rice is my fave.... I make this whilst my husband waits for his chinese take out and I am never jealous at all...

It changes everytime I make it but basically..

Wok action-Brown chicken in buttttttterrr when almost cooked, add some finely diced onion, minced garlic and sliced chilli's, duno what sort I'm growing they are red and hot if that helps... throw in Cauliflower (blitzed/grated) get it all combined. Sometimes soy sauce.
Dry mix is, salt, pinch of Chinese 5 spice, NO SUGAR OR SWEETENERS.
I've added the dry mix at various stages and it's always the same to me.

Quick and easy cauliflower. God I love cauliflower. Creamed cauliflower is a good one too....

That sounds fantastic. The cauliflower goes in the wok raw and just lightly sautéed??

Do you use breast or thigh meat?

@Hooroo breast as its convenient for a quick meal. And yes sautée!! Sometimes it all sweats a bit - sorry can't think of a more cheffy word but thats where the magic happens.
My fave go-to low carb hacks are iceburg lettuce as wraps or burger buns and Courgetti. Never bother with fake pizza bases as not a huge pizza fan anyway.

I don't think I genuinely loved sushi til my mid 30's but by crikey its so good especially topped in loads of wasabi.

St Pierres promote it as being healthy though which as I suspected isn't entirely accurate.

@Hooroo portion control is my kryptonite..... I figure cauliflower will feature big time in my cooking this winter

If you hit a jackpot recipe that you constantly go to with Cauliflower, can you please share it?

Tom Kerridge is an English 2 star Michelin chef. Was huge, now he's not. This is his book, which I have but haven't tried recipes yet. Sounds pretty tasty though

@MN5 that's just cruel. I can't have sushi without it... Alas at the moment I just can't have sushi...

@Hooroo almonds are a good snack as well, help curb cravings during the day. In keto world they have a good amount of fibre lowering the net carbs too and great fats!

Only issue with Almonds is the fact as blokes we need an absolute shitload of them to feel even close to full......but unfortunately a packet of chippies ( my one HUGE vice ) does the trick much more effectively.

Chippies ( or Crisps in your language ) and booze are my only real vices. I'm pretty good with everything else.

@MN5 yes, winter time me would have salt and vinegar pringles over chocolate any day, not bothered about alcohol as much so that's easy to cut out until summer.
You need to stop mentioning naughty food on this thread it's not helping anyone...

And once you open the pack you can't stop until it's done right? Chips, twisties, rashuns, cheezels, if I buy them and put them in the house they eventually go down

I pour them straight out of the bag into my mouth like an absolute munter, I hate getting all the food colouring on my fingers.

Mate, try that fasting shit. Mrs Mariner lost 3kg last week with the fasting/no carbs 800 calories combo.

Good luck man, that's going to take some work to shift, but if you are committed...
