I dunno sexual assault in today's environment? Even if he's not stood down, things like this can really affect a player - see Mr A Smith.

@SammyC The thing is. Of all the things that have been alleged against all 4 players named on social media, nothing has been supported by evidence.

If it's proven the saders and probably the ABs will miss him for the rest of this year.

And there I was, just thinking, fuck it - he's going to get stood down for this week! 🙂

Since he's already apologised to the woman and she noted one of his friends came over and apologised in the nightclub, I think it can be assumed that someone (from the Crusaders) has told him he did it - spat beer on her - even though he can't remember it.

@SammyC guess it depends on the act...I mean you take a swig of beer, your mate makes you laugh, you spit it out involuntarily...to deliberately spit is another matter entirely.

Does seem odd how it has escalated though from spitting to touching, I mean of the 2, the touching is the worse, yet was reported last?

Jake PAringatai got done for innapropriate touching 10 years ago.

Clearly the punishment should be that the Crusaders are forced to start Brett Cameron at 10 this week vs the Blues.....

Lol, that wont happen. But I wouldn't be suprised if he's stood down for the blues game.

At the very least, he should be stood down for this week's game. It's really important that he is stood down for this specific game.

@SammyC Or just investigate for a week and rest him for the next game. 😉

@SammyC Shortest of short odds that he won't play this week. Quite possibly not the following week either.

Beyond that, he's already had most of his punishment in the newspapers this morning - so the question is how much penance needs to be seen to be served by the court of public opinion.

I'd imagine there will be a raft of articles forthcoming shortly from people who otherwise have no interest in rugby demanding that you and I be punished! 🙂

Jason Pine is talking about this now on RS, saying there is no reason why the 'victims' would make this up...

I expect this, as with most things, is being blown out of proportion.

So apparently those that have accused the players of abuse are in the process of sourcing CC TV footage from the McDonalds where these events eventuated. They are adamant that the Crusader players are lying and are going to do anything to prove that.

I guess all will be revealed when that footage comes out.

Will McDonald's really care enough to provide security footage. Seems pretty low level accusations for them to go to those lengths.

Who knows, I guess if what they said did happen then they would be feeling pretty aggrieved, thus determined to back up their claims through footage.

On the other hand if they somehow can't pinpoint the event within that footage then they are most likely lying.

My worry is that they're going to get Marius Jonker to make a ruling on the footage.

I'll be quite interested to see what the SA guys are wearing. If Bridge asked them to take a selfie with him then I'm thinking it's going to be quite outlandish - and I can then see how things might have gone wrong from there.
