I have come across a spelling bee on ESPN. Which I didn't really think fitted the Entertainment or Sports category of their name.

Were you entertained by the stone skipping on your telebision (little typo in the thread title there)? If so it fits the brief I suppose.

@booboo Yes, might start using telebision myself - has a sort pentameter to it.

Also, I would agree that ESPN may be missing their brief with the spelling bees and stone skipping on their programming network.

@Hooroo Well 88 would certainly be worth seeing, so here it is.

It does look suspiciously like pumice - until it sinks at the end.

The follow on video seemed a bit wrong as Mr Steiner appeared to be throwing rocks at ducks. He is very particular about the stones too.

I really am avoiding doing any work today.

Yes, there is a sport named pizza acrobatics (and it is awesome)

If you've never heard of pizza acrobatics, welcome to the club. We asked pizza acrobatics megastar Tony Gemignani to explain how The Ocho's newest addition (12-1 p.m. ET, ESPN2) works.

well, ESPN just had a segment of Stone Cold Steve Austin rating the beer chugging abilities of other pro athletes. Based on that alone, i am willing to cut them a huge amount of slack

    and that's the bottom line

@Snowy I imagine not only do they have 'athletes' in that there stone skipping competition, they will require judges, probably multiple ones to count the skips...therefore, competitors, judges, no different to half the olympic sports!

In the ESPN link I posted the article lists all of the other episodes of The Ocho. Plenty of "sports" I've never heard of.

Stone skipping Asian style. Impressive technique, it is absolutely a legitimate sport.

Everything anyone wants to compete at that involves physical attributes is a sport, who gives a flip, let them play waht they want. The fact the Ocho exists, beyond being in Dodgeball, is proof there's interest. No skin off my nose that I had to sign off a kid to get colours for Rock n Roll dancing at WBHS!

The dodgeball movie was on last night and then Canada played USA on the program afterwards. Robot fighting was next and was in NZ.
