She should have been held in contempt of parliament earlier this year, but this news is better late than never...

Labour are doing a good job of changing the discussion from one about their rape culture to one about bullying

Finally Mau has actually deigned to address Labours huge issue of rape culture, still she pulls her punches.

One of Labour’s standout MPs is stepping down. By standout I mean in the collection of utterly ineffective and mediocre people that make up labour her incredible incompetence managed to set her apart .
-
I see Labour’s online shills are getting worked up about donations again . People in glass houses and all that

@canefan while they are covering up for the latest alleged rapist on their payroll I think we can expect more leaks from the other staff .
The next disaster on its way is whether or not we are giving Tainui an interest free loan to buy Ihumatao.

I hope the people are watching this, and vote accordingly. I don't expect so though

Next poll should be interesting, I think as it becomes impossible to deny the incompetence of this government more and more of their defenders in the media are starting to turn on them .
National released a cringy video of Jacki talking about Ihumātao and Labour’s fanboys claimed it was edited to make her look like a moron . They shut up pretty quickly when it turned out it wasn’t .
-
Anyone know about this shit - landlords not being able to evict tenants? Getting rid of the 90 day rule? It's hard enough to get rid of scumbags now. Labour seem to be able to come up with something detrimental to the economy at will (and hurt the people they are trying to protect). Look for a slump in rental property availability, and therefor a rise in rents.

Considering lots of people that vote are morons I'm not sure this moves the needle that far. And the Nats still have an unlikable candidate in opposition. I mean the electorate saw enough in 6 weeks from Jacko to put her in a position to form a government after Labour were basically staring down the barrel of irrelevancy with Little steering the ship. That is crazy

I always thought the 90 day rule referred to employee trial periods. Labour cut out it's use in larger businesses and the Nats want to bring it back?
If it is a tenancy thing too I am not surprised. It is bloody hard for a landlord to evict someone from their own property. Madness

@Snowy said in NZ Politics:
@canefan Yeah, 90 days to evict tenants too. Something about it in the Herald the other day, but was "premium" content.
Labour also got rid of the letting fee, so landlords fork out for that too.
I am sure there are bad landlords, just like there are bad tenants. But it sounds like typical Labour, treating many hardworking and industrious people with contempt (landlords and business owners alike)

Well we vote for parties and not for leaders so I’m not sure how much Bridges popularity matters, Helen Clark was very unpopular in opposition.
It’s worth remembering only 35% of votes actually when to Labour despite the weird cognitive dissonance surrounding Jacko .

They have made tenants more liable for damage afterthat case where the tenants burned down their flat and had no insurance threatened to set a nasty precedent

Yup. But their % was dismal when Little was leader and prior to Turei self-immolating. Her influence did enough to get voters to bring them close, and Uncle Winnie did the rest. If many are upset with how it all went down I really hope they punish NZF and destroy them as the king maker
