Help with classic All Black Quote

So this is a bit of a weird one.
I saw a great quote about the All Blacks about 20 years ago, and am trying to re-find it. I think it was from an Australian, something like
'the wave of blackness washes over you' (or engulfs you) or something. I'm absolutely blowed if I can find it again - wanted to send it to someone.
Anyone able to help? Sorry if it's vague as anything, and thanks in advance

That's been attributed to Edwards but I recall seeing something somewhere that it may (may) be apocryphal. A bit like the beer quote ( Beer is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy) wasn't said by Benjamin Franklin.
Regardless how true both of the quotes are.
