    Prediction time

Which is the upset result in the pool stages that throws one entire side of the draw open? There always seems to be one. What do you reckon?

    Japan tipping over Scotland

    @mariner4life asked for upsets....

All that does is rearrange which of three teams face a dead-end quarter final against the Boks/Blacks.

Fiji scoring an upset and making the quarters turns that side of the draw into open season.

@Wurzel I see a scenario of Fiji beating Wales, Wales beating OZ and OZ beating Fiji and points difference being a decider.

I reckon same scenario in the other pool. Argentina beats France, France beats England, England beats Argentina.

England coming 2nd in their pool would definitely count as opening everything right the fuck up. It makes one of Wales and England take each other out.

But, because nearly every quarter is going to be a shitfight, there just feels like less opportunity for a "free ride" to a final

Thought it was interesting with shag in his presser , when talking about South Africa’s defence, said they roll the dice , with wingers charging in, but it’s good because it gives you opportunities.

Mentioned it twice , a little bit of mind games ?

Wales have been rocked by the news that attack coach Rob Howley has been sent home from Japan amid allegations of betting infringements.

According to reports Howley has left the Welsh camp and Stephen Jones now joins Warren Gatland’s squad as they prepare for the tournament.

WalesOnline believe Howley contravened gambling guidelines by placing bets on Welsh fixtures in what is a shock twist ahead of the World Cup.

Fuck I thought that was a joke about Warren's silly' we threw the game' comment.

    Not a good look

Quick update on the other RWC going on here in Japan. The parliamentary rugby teams of Australia and New Zealand will play each other in the final tomorrow.

@antipodean I would come out of retirement to play against any of them. Rucking is still allowed right?

I suppose that I would have to be in Parliament too, which seems unlikely.

No rucking, but the games have been pretty willing.

I don't think you do actually, one of my mates plays for them. Probably helps to be in Wellington though...

Shit, is Billy the whole front row or is he playing in the midfield like in his school days?

When did he play number 8? Kiddies days or when he returned from Sydney?

He was a crazy sight in the midfield for Te Aute back in the day!

Would've been around the mid naughties, maybe earlier. He dabbled in midfield too, but wouldn't have been good enough to oust me of course.
