    I hadn't realised Sweeney was still at school when he debuted. I was living overseas then.

    Cool that both he and Crosswell will play their 100th provincial games in the same round.

    Mako team named.

    Good to see Tyrel Lomax back (and Hugh Roach).

    I get my wish seeing Uchida start.

    Mitch Hunt still missing. Big Leicester starting on the bench - but last week's injury presumably not a problem.

    I think we're going to need Andrew Makalio to come back sooner rather than later.

    I guess we have some cover for Liam Squire, but I'm somewhat wondering why they're not considering him as the lock cover - similarly to the way they used Frizell.

    Shannon getting called up to the ABs is a major loss in firepower. Not many in this comp who could match his physicality - and that will be important against teams with lots of big munters aka Auckland.

    @Chris-B Ta$man will win this easily. Waikato can score points but leak them too (missing heaps of first-up tackles). Scrum is an issue with 3 LH props out injured. It would have been good to keep Coxon as he looks to be a spare part for Ta$man.

    @Bovidae I certainly hope so. I'd hate to think that you would beat Ta$man and then lend credibility to that fucking shield by taking it. 🙂

    I suspect Coxon is still out injured. Can't remember exactly what happened to him, but it looked pretty serious at the time. Otherwise, I think he'd be getting time ahead of Wyatt - building for the future.

    Seems to be something about looseheads that attract injury. For us, Tim Perry's hardly played this year. Kane Hames is still out. Wyatt Crockett missed the first month. And Ryan Coxon.

    Thank goodness for Sam "the Rock" Prattley, eh @Tim - always available if required! 🙂

    Ta$man approached Chris King a couple of weeks ago but he said no thanks. Also turned down Canterbury.

    @shark He's mainly a tighthead isn't he?

    That's really not surprising - against Harbour, Ta$man had Sam Matenga on the bench - google tells me he was an U20s prop last year. Probably not ideal when you're possibly packing against Big Karl!

    The right decision. Nothing wrong with that tackle.

    I'm sure he has his reasons, but it's a real shame that Jordan Taufua isn't playing for Samoa in the WC. He'd make a huge difference for them.

    Quinn Tupaea has been great all season. Should get plenty of game time for the Chiefs in 2020.
