Must be the first time in a fair while that Auckland have been down troued.
Last time Auckland failed to score a point was 2008, losing 0-27 to Wellington.
I believe that was a Shield game. Could be wrong.
-
@KiwiMurph you correct , I was at that game...
-
@Steven-Harris So was I haha. Lol if we think we're terrible this year, this team is still miles ahead of that 2008 side and that says a lot.

Geez that was too easy Akira looks slow and unfit
When he ran out of the tunnel at the start of the game my immediate thought was āhe looks a little heavierā.
I never thought Auckland could win, but I did think they would offer a bit more resistance. A few interesting weeks coming up for them.

They have a fairly easy run in donāt they?

@African-Monkey I actually think the tight five did not do to badly , I would not have played Jamie Lane, needed more physicality in the middle row..you get an appreciation what Lemalu and Olmsted bought to this team last year..they had really good loose forward mix as well..
Can you imagine this AK backline behind a real hard working pack..?,thatās exactly what Ta$man pack does well, they work their butts off..especially at Breakdown , their clean outs this evening were brutal, even Paripari Parkinson, that cleanout where he clean out about 4 or five players including one of his own was impressive..only really saw that from Whetton and Akira on the odd occasion..
Was hoping for close contest ..always knew in the back of my head the Mako would come through, just did not expect that scoreline ..fair play to the Mako, far too good on the night..
Heading down to Tauranga tomorrow to watch the battle of the Bays, should be a beauty..! -

@number9 The difference in score between the two teams was forty points. Hardly likely that the referee accounted for all of those.
The ref made some shockers, Christies crawling try, the dropped ball over the try line. The kick of rhe ball from the Jap half back all this in front of th ref. Auckland would still lose the game but if that doesn't make a diffenve then you are an idiot.

Yeah I agree Auckland look on the decline
I was expecting a closer contest -
Another great night at Trafalgar Park!
And with that victory, I believe, we've now beaten every other NPC team the last time we played them. Have to go back a few years to find a result against BoP - they've been dodging us in our prime!
We should get some sort of shield for this - I think I'll call it the Grand Slam Shield!
Much better from the Mako - Mitch Hunt is quite important and Makalio is also very handy.
Freddie is ramping it up for the defending champions....
...mud on your face
You big disgrace
Waving your banner all over the place.
We will, We will rock you!Sing it!!!

Ah well, it was a great run last year, with one of the best finals yuo'll ever see. Tonight, not so great
Well done Ta$man, can't see anyone stopping you this year
