@Bovidae and @akan004 don't know why you would prefer the All Blacks play Japan in the QF's, that is not the talk of champions. We should be praying to play Ireland so we can get revenge for the last game!

Probably because it’s easier to win two consecutive difficult games than 3

Trying to make sense of predicted track maps shows Hagibis well North and moving off shore by afternoon on Sunday.

So the weather should be fine, potentially awesome, for this game.

Just can't be sure what state the stadium and transport infrastructure even electricity and comms may be in.

Dunno what the original tweet says but interesting glimpse of the field at the end of the video.

Can someone enlighten me as to why Scotland are melting down before their game has even been officially cancelled?

@Snowy @jegga I do wonder though that if it was say England or NZ that needed to play to qualify whether or not the outcome from World Rugby would have been different. I'd like to think not, but I'm not so sure. Now this is not a dig and either team, more taking a view on the commercial decision that World Rugby might have taken.

Exactly same as all the head-games that coaches pull out before matches, to try and influence refs' thinking.
Just trying to put that extra tiny bit of pressure on, to prod any 50/50 decision towards it being played.
I'm being optimistic of course... Occam would argue the alternative that they are just complete fucktard whinging tosspots.

We will never know so theres no need for the Italians or Scots to try and drag us into their public meltdowns over the cancellations.

History would suggest they might be

When we toured in 1905 the share of the gate takings was negotiated before the tour started and as it progressed the abs became a huge drawcard and the Scots wanted to try and redraw the contract and were told to fuck off.
In 1925 the world had completely changed, Germany had collapsed after a global war , Russia had killed off its royal family and become communist , the middle east and europes borders had redrawn , the Ottoman empire had finally fallen and an entire generation had been decimated in the mud of the western front.
The scots were still pissed about the gate takings in 1905 though and refused to play the abs.

One of the more obnoxious rugby writers should pen a column pointing out they were only there to make up the numbers and they should know their place and stfu.

@jegga Which was worse the Welsh cheating the Originals of their Grand Slam in 1905 by moving the ball over the line after Bob Deans scored or the Scots denying the 1924-5 Invincibles their Grand Slam by refusing to play them?

At least the Welsh fronted up on the field. It's only cheating if you get caught right?

I still haven't forgiven the Welsh for that. My mum used to tell me that particular bit of history from day 1. As for the Scots, that little piece regarding the gate takings and the follow on on the 1924 tour continues to resonate in my disdain for Scottish administrators, be it for sport or finance.

Want the scots to win for obvious reasons ,

But I would much rather support Japan , and not just because of the dramas,

Japan have been one of the few highlights of pool play so far for me , have enjoyed their approach to the game

Wales made up for it in the mid-00s though.

If it's really wet then that will favour the Scots who will be doing everything they can to slow the game down

The scots might need to score four tries though so a wet outfield might not be so helpful.
