Only 1 run this week, had a short and sweet workout yesterday before I went to the league and then TR Jnr & I went for a 21km bike ride today, very low intensity with TR Jnr walking up some hills and wanting drinks breaks, but still 21km and I did a few short sprints to give a bit of extra to it.

Initial burst of weight loss all but disintergrated now at 94.7, so need to pull finger!

Single run, couple of good workouts in the heat plus a bit of touch a few times this week with TR Jnr...94.4kg, slow going after a good start.

Will run twice this week.

Played my first game of netbal today in a work thing against our 'big brother' and given I barely watched any netball, it was interesting...good fun, good hard 45 mins in the heat, only problem is I have a slight strain in my left calf/achilles, hopefully it'll settle in the next day or so.

I used to play indoor netball for work many moons ago. Quite a fun game to play, I remember being surprised how dirty the girls were - standing on feet, pulling shirts, tripping you etc.

The calf/achilles was ok, did upper body workout Saturday, then another on Sunday (legs & core) only 1 run last week after the slight strain playing netball.

Went running today, tried a new track I havent been on for many years (20+) and couldnt find the entrance, so I went in the other end and while I didnt get lost, I took a wrong turn and instead of doing a loop ended up back where I started, so next time I know where to go left instead of right and I should be fine (although if I take another wrong turn my 4-5km run will end up about 9-10km, which is only a bad thing given I am running in my lunch hour at work!

I like this run though as it is track running and alot of steps!

Think it will be tougher to get to 90 before Christmas than I had hoped...94.2kg

2 good workouts, a run today, which was about 1.5km and then did some stair, er, sprints* :mocking: and then ran back...bloody hot today too, apparently 30 deg in the city today and high humidity, took an age to cool down after!! Wasnt feeling the best today and almost didnt run, had a shitty sleep last night, legs were still sore from workout on Saturday.

Weight stopped coming off, which is a bit odd TBH, I have cut out about 75% of the shitty food I eat (which is mainyl snacks) which is better than I did when I lost weight 2 years back, and I am also consuming probably 75% less sugar a day too, the one thing I havent cut back on (but not consuming greatly is breads - which I know is a big no no, but it was alright last time) ...so monitoring it, tweaking a few things now and then.

*The GPS watch tells me the change in height from bottom of steps to top was about 5-6m, which is 3 sets of steps with about 25 or so each set

2 good workouts, and a run, did an extra stair climb on the run this week and still beat my time by about 2 mins and knocked 30sec off my ave km/min, although with the hill part of the run this is about 2min/km slower than flat running. GPS told me it was about 10m change in height this week....go figure.

Gotta keep the run about 30mins or less to allow me plenty of time for the cold shower to cool me off when I get back so I dont sweat for the rest of the day!

Love working out in the heat though!

Fighting to get under 94kg, so looking highly unlikely me hitting 90kg by the end of the year (bar starving myself) but I know I am eating better, so gotta be in better shape than I was!!

This thread hasn't been culled...

I still workout at least twice a week but in recent months my diet (although I feel like I am eating ok) seems to have issues with me hitting 98.8kg 2 weeks back.

95.6kg today and also just finished making a 3 level box for me, quads still screaming after first use of it...I am aiming to be able to do 60+ push ups by Xmas, can do 30+ easily but am doing 2 extra each day and am upto 28.

Am getting out on the bike and for 2-3km runs with tr jnr, who is keen to get fitter and stronger but doesn't like the hard work to get there...he can do 35 push ups now as I used it as a way to 'punish' him for negativity (when he would say the word 'cant' all the time) :)

Just being a bit of a negative nelly, so I thought it was a good way to try and encourage him to be more positive.

My boys are getting into the plastic weights in the garage, that and a few sprints at the park are turning them into the finely tuned units their old man never was....

Yeah TR Jnr is very keen, he was doing some box jumps today as well, but if I say we'll do 10 sets of 10 he says 5 of 5...but he is slowly coming round as he is seeing the benefit of doing it...although he is at a mates place now, who is severely obese and all they will have done this afternoon is eat shit and play PS4 or XBox1 - yeah the kid has both :idiot2:

94.7kg this morning.

Havent done much exercise so far this week, just walk at lunch time, and digging a hole to re-concrete a post in, but as above, it seems more my diet that is the issue.

So maintaining a decent diet will have the impact I need (and is more about serving size than anything) although gonna be tough this time of year with <strike>5</strike> 6 functions in the next 2 weeks!

edit - had a lunch today I had forgotten about...sheesh, wont be weighing in tomorrow!

Gets tougher as you get older. I have a shitload of beer which is screaming out to be drunk. Helps if it's not in the fridge though haha.

I don't drink a great deal, but will always have a drink when I feel like it, I don't ever not have a drink for fear of it going straight to my gut or anything.

But yeah it does get tougher as you get older, that being said, when I go running or am working out, I don't feel any different (weaker, or fatigue quicker) to 5 or 10+ years ago, if anything I think in a lot of ways I am in better shape now (just more grey hair)

As I approach the big 50 next year, I find stamina wise I'm good, strength a bit down, but flexibility is really shit and think that's why you get more niggle and injuries as you get older.

I keep hearing good things about yoga, but can't bring myself to do it as I think it's a sport for the retirement home.

Good to see TR junior is getting into it. My son is 12 and can't press-up for shit. However he has just joined the local boxing club and they will whip him into shape. He's pretty sporty when activities are organised for him - but will always resort to PS2 when nothing is arranged.

49 last night...oddly 47 quite easy (as it was the day before) and I thought about pushing into the 50's, but 49 was a massive struggle I decided to stick to the +2 plan.

With 15 days until Xmas, I can probably drop to +1 per day if I need to, will see how I go tonight.

No movement on weight, but by god this time of year is a battle for that, even last night, went to one, thought I'd behave, nek minut; nibbles (tempura prawns :man_in_love: ) a couple of beers, 1 full strength and then went light - BTW Heineken light SUUUUCKS

Something tomorrow night as well...tough old life. :i_am_so_happy:

that is a cool approach on the press ups. 60+ unbroken is alright in my books! I'd struggle to hit 30 at the mo I reckon.

Only low alcohol beer I've partially enjoyed has been 2 Stroke by Stoke - actually tastes like a nice drop. Amstel light is my dirty dirty option.

At least summer time means a bit more physical activity (aside from watching test cricket) so that'll help shed a few kg bro.

Push up variations are what ya wanna aim for I reckon. Busting out heaps of them isn't good for anything other than endurance but incline, clap or one armed push ups are always a good functional ( and show off ) workout. At my best I managed about 80 but despite that my benching suffered, could probably do 50 odd now.

but that aint this goal, and I am making sure they are proper push ups, at the bottom my chin, stomach and balls tough the floor, and straighten arms at the top ...I can do variations and other stuff, but that aint what I am doing right now, my best was only about 60 or so at high school.

Not everyone can be as awesome as you bro ;)
