I have 7 of those in my CD collection.
In theory I would have thought "vinyl era" was pre-1982.
I decided that the vinyl era extended until CD sales were clearly dominant.

OK, just curious as the majority of my early purchases were on cassette not vinyl. I do have a few LPs and 7" singles from the 1980s but no turntable anymore.
BTW, I had always thought "Brothers in Arms" was the first CD produced in 1985 but it was only the first digitally recorded to CD. The first CD was actually ABBA (The Visitors) in 1982.

My first LP and CD was probably the same album, Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms" in 1985.
IIRC the first cassette I bought was Men At Work's "Business as Usual" in 1981. I still have it in a box with my other cassettes.
nd
Good stuff this, I wish I still had my old cassettes! And Brothers in Arms is timeless. -

Out of curiosity I was looking at Discogs to see what the value of some of the vinyl I own is now worth. The 7" NZ/Aust single of U2's "One Tree Hill" is valued at NZ$80.
It would have cost less than $10 when purchased.
Should be worth a lot more in my opinion... 😍

Your just attention seeking, it was aimed at anyone - although he is the major culprit. Deliberatly by now I suspect, or it is a really flat learning curve.
Psycho Killer actually is one of my favourite songs and 77 was one of my first albums, and yes, it was vinyl. I was very young at the time of course.

Their best song by quite some margin ( in my ever so humble opinion )

Great track. My go-to Spotify playlist when I'm cooking (read: drinking wine) on a Sunday avo is Early Alternative, and this tune always comes on and has me singing along
