Whilst on the MTB topic, my new frame arrived today. Giant are farken good. Offer a lifetime warranty on frames. Just brilliant
Rebuilt the bike last night so hopefully out for a test run over the weekend
Goes farken good! Only a short casual ride round the streets and up mt vic and north head but felt good. Forgot hasn’t pumped up the tyres tho since last trail mission so was sluggish but still happy with how the black beast rides

walked up Mt Vic this morning now the rain of the last few days has stopped. Had to stop a couple of times to let my knees rest a little but managed to not have a smoke until after I'd made it to the top. Had one fucktard make a snide remark as he jogged past me on the downhill about being slow but I'm just pleased I was able to complete a good 90 minute walk without feeling like my knees were ready to explode. Finally getting the hang of walking with a stick most of the time, but it's a huge comedown from last year where I only needed the walking stick after a day at work. Looking forward to buying a reasonable bike and tikitouring around the greenbelt.

@Bones
I let it bother me for about 15 seconds then got back to enjoying the walk. I have really missed Wellington, so being able to just enjoy places I knew of old is way beyond the ability of some self-entitled shitforbrains (who probably spent more on the looks of his gear than performance warrants) to mar. He's probably not a Wellingtonian anyway, judging by his attitude on the path.

Good workout this morning and glad to see a couple of hotties who have turned up at the new location as thought we may have lost them.
Should get a decent 5 sessions in the gym this week, aiming for the early mornings. Run on Tuesday night and some MTB friday or Sat

it is amazing how the presence of a lycra-clad hottie completely changes the feeling of a workout

I've been quietly going about my business seeing a personal trainer twice a week and trying not to eat too much rubbish. When I first started, I was 136kg and couldn't lift a thing. After a couple of months, I have lost a few notches on the belt, ~10kg and did a 1 rm of 110 bench press which I was happy enough with as we haven't been lifting heavy weight, just high reps of lighter weights.
Easily did 100 deadlift too which pleased me as I did 5 without a worry but a little twinge in my groin/hammy prevented me from going next weight up.
Thing that surprised me the most was I did a 500m row 1:36 with the last 100 metres at a stroke rate of only 1:40-1:45.
I'm still no where near what I should be but without trying to do anything in particular apart from get fitter and slimmer, I was happy with the results.
Was a good day and I'm glad my PT suggested we check out my top lifts

this, right here, is how you win. Slow and steady.
Now if only i didn't enjoy beer and food so much ...
I haven't cut back on the beer as I didn't want to walk round feeling as though my throat had been cut. Basically I just cut out all junk food and cooked/prepared every meal I ate.
It's only a start as I really should be between 100 and 110 so a looooooong way to go but I feel much better for it.

I've had to. Pretty strict about no drinking during the week. The first year I had beer on tap in my house, I put on 10kg. Don't regret it for one moment, but fark, it can do some damage.
Also, brewing is
a greatthe best hobby. -

Also, brewing is
a greatthe best hobby. My mate did that and the exact same thing and he started worrying about how much he was drinking each day. That was enough to convince me not to start as I would be hopeless! It's so easy to grab beers and walk over the farm to feed up. I have cut those out but I haven't cut back on days when I want a beer like after golf or if I go out.

@Hooroo great stuff bro! you'll only improve as you build strength and get that form locked in. High rep work is a good thing to focus on early in the piece, then start to mix it up with heavier stuff.
The payoff once you've added more muscle is it burns even more fuel!! The trick is to not over indulge in kai even though you'll feel more hungry if you can keep your eating tidy-ish on top of weight training (and the dreaded cardio) you'll be killing it mate! -

I have only been doing the PT sessions each week (twice a week) so need to get there in between those sessions to further the results. Not really looking at strength, her goal with me is to improve my golf so all the exercises and cardio are based around that. When I first went to her, I was on a 20 handicap and thinking of giving up the game and now I'm back down to an 11.

@Hooroo ha ha strength will come anyway with what she's got you doing! Getting stronger (not necessarily bulkier) will no doubt help your golf . Especially core and back stuff.
And resistance with bands and stuff!
One thing she does is puts a band under the seat and onto the bench press bar so when I am benching this damn band resisting. It really is quite good for control.
I'm all about technique over weight though as the last thing I want to do is injure myself

Yeah we're lining up for a dry weekend this weekend. Time to knock the copious amounts of booze on the head to get us over the hill against the belly and handles.
Gonna stock up on zero alcohol cider and beer (saw a milk stout I'm keen to try) so it probably won't work.
