The clown show that is Palachook and Queensland continues. We book flights to go up the week after they said the borders would reopen and today this from the Premier:
Speaking in state parliament on Tuesday, Ms Palaszczuk addressed cases in New South Wales and Victoria which may impact the reopening of Queensland’s borders.
“We want to see NSW and Victoria get on top of their community transmission,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
“There are now just five active cases of COVID-19 in Queensland compared with 73 active cases in NSW and 49 active cases in Victoria.
“Of course, we recognise businesses are doing it tough but they would be doing it even tougher if there was an outbreak of community transmission in Queensland.

So Victorians.
Toilet paper being rationed.
Again.
Makes sense in a commie shithole.
-
Stupidity is back here.
Toilet paper, hand sanitiser, pasta, paper towel, long life milk, rice, flour eggs - all back on the limited purchase list.

That's the thing, it never actually left!!!

The testing facilities in certain parts of Melbourne also went into meltdown a couple of days ago.
Chadstone was the worst with people waiting up to 4 hours. They have a drive thru operation going that had been running well until the recent uptick in cases.
It’s bizarre to say the least that there was this mad rush for testing by thousands of people as if there was some crazy coincidence that they all started to display symptoms on the same day. They don’t get it. If they had symptoms they should’ve got tested when they first started to show but it’s as if they waited for the increase!!!
-
@ACT-Crusader a t least testing is understandable.
The panic buying?
-
the "outbreak" is so small, and so manageable. The media can deadset go fuck itself. As can the Premiers.

We're in a 'hot-spot' in Victoria. I'm getting dizzy at the opinion changes from certain folk regarding covid.
"Covid is extremely dangerous people must not congregate!..although it isn't that dangerous so thousands congregating for a BLM protest is fine... anyway Daniel Andrews confirmed the real issue is families ignoring lockdown rules and spreading this dangerous illness nothing to do with the protests...no you can't talk about that particular family spread that's islamophobic."

Daughter was coughing and sniffly Sunday so we took her in to the local Kids Hospital (Westmead).
About half an hour in line. Test results were back in 24 hours.
Assume (hope) negative???
Oh yeah - should have mentioned that.

75 new cases in Victoria yesterday, and shit is officially getting real.
Nothing in NSW, and only a small number of non-quarantine cases in the last few weeks.
It's going to be a very interesting week, a case study in how to handle an outbreak. Do they lock down Melbourne, or certain suburbs? Surely they can't go a full statewide lockdown.

I’m not that surprised at the rise really given the significant growth in testing that is going on.
You should see the setups in some of these suburbs. Mobile test facilities at the end of the street. An army of foot soldiers going door to door.

so, will Victoria being a disease-ridden shithole mean that our beloved premier peek out and see a shadow or not? If she sees that shadow, our borders aren't opening.
-
@barbarian said in Coronavirus - Australia:
Wouldn't shock me if she opened borders to WA/SA but not NSW/Vic.
But there's no chance she's throwing them open to all comers IMO.
yep, agreed

About fucking time.
