I got rejected for having two high a temperature
That's pretty high.
Hahaha, I haven't quite reached the point where I have my minion proofing my Fern posts as well as my normal work.

@Stockcar86 Spoke to GP at 11.30 on Tuesday - had test at 3:00 p.m. that day. Results came through midnight Wednesday.
As I said above I was told that a lot of testing centres had been closed although I saw the tents going back up again at one today.

Man we need to slow the numbers of people arriving, our isolation facilities must be close to bursting.
While it is easy to say they are all in isolation, with numbers increasing as they are there is the risk of cases spreading in the facilities or mistakes being made and it slipping into our communities.
We may have dodged a bullet with those 2 ladies a couple of weeks back, which has forced our border/isolation to be better, these numbers may soon overwhelm these facilities...

How do you do that though? It's a massive legal step to tell NZ citizens they can't come home.
-
@voodoo so why have numbers of people returning increased so much in the past 3 weeks?
Whinny said back in March/April, come home, come how now...why are people only coming home now? THe world is falling apart, lets go back to NZ where they will put me in a hotel for 2 weeks and look after me if I am sick.
They have to do soemthing, I dont have the answer, but if our numbers keep going up the way they are, it is only a matter of time before a breach like the one a couple of weeks back happens again, and may not end as well next time.

Is that rhetorical? I think attraction to a covid "free" country where you can just go about daily life as normal is huge. 3 months ago we were all facing lockdown and somewhere like the UK was possibly slightly better to be.
-
@Bones well as I said I dont have an answer, so yeah pretty much...but why didnt they come back 3 months ago? Did they not see Covid as a real issue?
I expect some have possibly now just lost jobs and decided to bail now, but yeah, some just see it as a great place to go home to.
Thing is, something needs to be done, I am not sure we can cope with the numbers of people arriving everyday, and I expect this will keep going up until just about everyone holding a NZ passport returns.
-
@taniwharugby as I said, if we're talking being locked down, I think I'd rather be here. But now I'd quite happily head to NZ if I was in a position to do so. As it is I'm contemplating Aus, which I wasn't 3 months ago...
-
@Bones still doenst change the fact that we need to find a way to slow the numbers arriving, otherwise we will end up in the shit...not sure how they would go about trying to make people pay for thier own isolation, might put some off returning, but not all and for those that arrive with no $$$ or no means to pay what do they do then?

A member of my family is coming back to nz in a few weeks.
He was very close to moving 3 months ago but it wasn’t possible on short notice. The complicating factors were his wife’s job, kids schooling, his wife’s sick family members
The decision was made a while ago. Not everyone can move on short notice

I realise that, I dont expect every single one of them is in the same situation, by the same token I am sure everyone probably has a genuine and sound reason for coming back when they are (Last week, last month, next week, next month) and they are entitled to come home, doesnt change what is becoming a problem, it's how we manage this problem that will be key
I'm not saying shut them out, not saying tell them not to come home, as I said, I dont have the answer.
-
@taniwharugby White Island isolation camp.

So only rich citizens can come home? Eek
Yeah there's so many destitute taking international flights across the Ta$man/Pacific.
