New Far Side cartoons!
Do you want to know what disappoints me??
The lack of acknowledgement of your post!
This is fabulous news. I love far side. There is one cartoon from all his books that no matter what, I just don't get. I will try and hunt it down but is has baffled me ever since I first started reading them.

I hadn't seen the post.
Big Larson fan, same fucked up sense of humour as me. -

Works so much better with the caption.
"Hell of a birthmark, Stan" or something to that effect.
These are great. I haven't read Far Side in yonks!! These are all making me smile/chuckle, despite seeing them all before

Apart from "school for the gifted", I always loved this one:
-
@antipodean I deliberately didn't put that one up, because, well, ummm, ahhh. That was before I became all grown up of course...
Larson, Python, Airplane / Flying High were my go to when things got a bit boring, or a bit too exciting on occasions. Great way to relieve the monotony, or lighten the tension.
Nothing like a "looks like I chose the wrong week to give up sniffing glue" when you are going to land in a typhoon. Gets the crew onside every time.
-
@Machpants Oh yes. Many quotes from slack bladder too, and Lord Flashheart.
The "treat your woman like a kite" was:
"Get inside her 5 times a day and take her to heaven and back", wasn't it? Said that far too often.Surprised I kept my job when I look back.

You are not my kind of fun!
I remember when we were on a flight to Darwin and there were only about 5 aboard so I spent a lot up in with the flight crew. As we were going over the GAFA (if I remember rightly) the Captain asked if I wanted a go flying. Obviously I was all over that.
I knew the basics and he got me to do a few things to make sure all was ok and let me "have the wheel" for about 1 minute I was loving it but then we started to nose-dive and I had no idea why and he "panicked" and start shouting all these instructions at me and I was freaking out!!! What I didn't realise was that the co-pilot and Captain had played this game many times and the Co was doing something to make it dive.
Everybody loved that wee gag apart from yours truly.
Did get to fly for about an hour though after that and while it was no big deal to keep it straight and at an altitude, I friggen loved it. It was thrilling. (not as cool as hanging feet over the ramp as you're flying over Auckland Harbour! That was wicked and I have a photo of it.)
