Havent managed much exercise, although go walking at lunch time in the near 100% humidity, although I had the day off on Monday I did lawnmowing, digging holes and then a run on the treadmill in 30degrees of 100% humidity just melted some weight off me, weighed 94.2kg before dinner that day!

BUt for me, I think it has more been about what I am eating, and I have been cutting back on portion sizes, and some days I am freakin starving, others, am sweet.

Tabata style workout yesterday with push ups, box jumps, mountain climbers and sprints (plus mowed half lawns with push mower) then had to put up the kids pool to cool down, luckily got a heavy downpour straight after which replenished about half the water I used :)

THis morning the neighbour and I did a 23km ride out to a nearby (well 23km) lake for a morning swim, water was so warm even at 0945!! Wives arrived with the kids for thier swim so we didnt have to ride home :)

I really enjoy working out in the heat, more so as I put up the kids little pool last week (plus had enough rain to replenish the tanks) so finished workout, sit in that for 20mins to cool off...saweet!

Def starting to see a bit of difference again in my face and around the waist with losing the weight, amazing how quick it changes, and I guess when you put it on you notice too but as you are not thinking about it, your sub-conscious ignores it.

93.8kg on weigh in on Friday...having some fluctuations as I was 93.4 on Sat arvo and was back to 94 yesterday. a lot to do with hydration I think.

Slowly creeping toward my goal of 90kg, still not exercising quite as much as I'd like, just trying to get back into the habits with my first 5 day work week of the year and kids back at school.

HAve a 2 day pairs golf tournament this weekend, which is a bit gutting as I got invited out on a launch on Saturday by an Insurer for a big fishing comp up here...oh well, I have a bunch of clients playing in the golf tournament, so I guess that's better for me....

Workouts a bit all over the show, nothing consistent at present, TR Jnr sometimes does stuff with me so adjust my routine for him as his is more about rugby training, but still get a good workout in.

yeah bro - I'm hitting shoulder mobility work like Nick Willis was choking the chicken!

Have found two particular stretches/rolling out techniques that are helping a lot.

1. Rolling out my chest. Fark this hurts, and I'm only using a short foam roller and a tennis ball (standing against a wall). Haven't graduated to a hockey or laccorse ball yet. Further pain awaits! This really loosens up my shoulders and makes further stretching way more effective.

2. using a tennis to hit my back - around the scapula - there is a release point somewhere around there that really lets my shoulder settle into the socket. The other is turning side on (to the wall) and using the tennis ball to roll out around my shoulder. I just move till I find a sore point then work away at it.

Beyond that you could do stuff like cable face pulls and Y/T rows with light DB's to build up more shoulder strength. That lets you loosen up the tightness that pulls the shoulder out of whack, and the weight bearing stuff strengthens the 'correct' movements.

I have a big elastic band that I use for a number of different movements, but haven't used any stretching/rolling stuff.

Any youtube clips on them, as I cant quite visualize the chest rolling for the shoulder.

I hurt mine, maybe 15 years ago playing rugby, sorted it with exercise, but every now and then the pain flares up again...don't want to have surgery to sort it.

The old rotator cuffs are an issue for me too, I find doing assistance exercises with pussy weights helping to target the little muscles do help though.....lying down and kinda revolving your arm, hard to explain and don't know what to call them so can't google but definitely the kind of things that Dom Mazetti would be disgusted at.

Here is one vid - not the exact one I was looking for (still on the hunt). But this one talks about why you need to work on your upper pec and through under your armpit. Until you do that you won't release your shoulder so any extra back work won't really be helping to stabilize your shoulders.

Never seen that done before but eager to give that a hoon. Looks like it would be beneficial. Here's a vid I'm doing four times a week that even in a short period has worked fucken wonders for flexibility.

https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/lower-body-stretches-a-stretching-routine-for-flexibility

I do it in the morning before my coffee, you feel like a bit of a tool doing it but fuck it, once you get over that the benefits are great.
