Sotutu could be out for a bit.....the dreaded aye see el....

Shit. Was it the ruck he went into while missing a shoe? He looked to slip awkwardly with no grip.

    @Chris-B

By the stats, he was quiet, dangerous, and poor:

    3 runs, 1 metre
1 clean break, 2 defenders beaten
    1 turnover, 1 tackles made, 2 missed

    Similarly Reece had:

    5 runs, 6 metres
    1 defender beaten, 1 offload
    2 tackles made, 3 missed

For whatever reason play went to the other side and/or the others got more involved:

    Bridge:

    9 runs, 49 metres,
1 clean break, 3 defenders beaten, 1 try assist
    2 turnovers, 5 tackles made, 1 missed

    Telea:

    5 runs, 62 metres
2 clean breaks, 3 defenders beaten, 1 try
9 tackles made, 2 missed, 1 penalty conceded

So Telea easily the best on the field

also, how much does being a winger suck? The fuck were they even doing out there? There would have been people in teh stands who did more than these guys

@gt12 Even without looking at the stats, George was way ahead on points compared to the other wings in that game - on my card anyway.

That doesn't necessarily mean you get a line drawn through your name if you're the other guys, but it's a significant blow to their campaigns to be outplayed by the incumbent they're trying to unseat.

I'm biased, but I've got Will Jordan at the head of the new caps queue to join the outside backs - so the question is how many new guys do they want and how many incumbents might they get rid of?

Does not compute! Was he going backwards for his clean break?

@gt12 What about errors? A lot of the criticism of Talea has been about his failure to catch the high kicks.

If the Olympics go ahead next year than Clarke couldn't be involved with the ABs until 2022.

you'd think they will be re-looking at those guys had previously committed, some might be closer to the ABs, while others might be further form the 7s than they were previously....

@taniwharugby Clarke is keen to go based on a quote only a week ago.

“I want to go to Tokyo,” he says. “It’s a big goal, especially while I’m still young. But we’ll just see how this season pans out. The ultimate goal is always the black jersey. If there’s a shot of that it would be something real cool to pursue. But the Olympics is once in a lifetime as well.”

@mariner4life Didn't they have the game on in Cairns?

Crocodile bite through the legs of the TV tower or did it just sink into the swamp?

i live in Cairns, not the everglades

But no, 5pm is not ideal, busy cooking dinner. Extended highlights only for me this week.

@mariner4life You'll have seen a fair bit of George's impressive game in those highlights then! 🙂

Reiko needs to be left at centre now. He has made the move a bit earlier than most wingers but now he has, he needs to develop the experience there. Moving him around again will be a backward step.

So who does he replace in the midfield?

Does he realise the olympics are every 4 years?

I'm sure he thinks going to the Olympics at 21/22 years old would be preferable, and then he focuses on playing XVs.
