@Yeetyaah I added that more to indicate that he's capable of playing there (like for NZU20s), not that I expected him to play there (he didn't for the Crusaders).

Grace will cover lock if needed. Hell, we used Reed Prinsep there at times last season.

Ngani Punivai is 100% a centre who just happens to be able to cover wing. The Highlanders used him on the wing and Canterbury also, but only as a stop-gap.

So annoyed Otago have poached Will Tucker and Sam Gilbert.

@shark To be fair, Gilbert is injured so he wasn't going to be playing anyways and Otago lost Josh Dickson. Yous have already got Whitelock and Barrett, share your players to the teams that need a lock

@NateHill74 that's far from the point. I'd like to see these young locally produced kids with potential at least establish themselves with - and add value to - Canterbury for a season or three before possibly having to go elsewhere to advance themselves, if indeed they need to move to do so. I'd much rather see a good young local kid retained than someone else brought in.

Canterbury beat Ta$man yesterday 19-17. It was live on Facebook and can be watched on replay, which might be my thing this arvo.

@shark If you read the general Mitre 10 Cup thread, you can find some livescoring. The link to the FB livestream is posted there, too. 🙂

I count a minimum of 17 locally schooled squaddies. Some of the debutants I haven't looked up.

I'd suggest that the Canterbury captain should be playing for the Crusaders, just seems wrong otherwise. 😉

Unsure of Dallas McLeod's injury status after last night, but with he and Ennor unavailable we're getting a bit thin. Hopefully N Punivai gets back soon to help his little brother out.

@cgrant pretty sure it’s Angus Fletcher. The guy on the left is George Prain. Looks Ike the 3 guys from Rangiora hs that we’re in the winning Canterbury 19s last year.
