I enjoy DC when he’s calling the fights and the technical aspects especially. But the high pitched laugh talking he does. Usually during some kind of inside joke or something we should find funny, but don’t. Is fucking annoying. He started it with Joe Rogan during the the last big event in the states and hasn’t stopped.

Does anyone else feel like Khabib isn’t the pfp?

I’ll explain. I think he fought dos Anjos at full strength in his prime. Pourier in his prime. Gaethje in his prime.

Conor was under done and full of himself. Still dangerous but not the proposition he was vs Aldo.

Iaquinta was underdone on short notice.

Barboza is dangerous but not elite and he was in the slide.

    Johnson was on the slide.

And then it’s a bit of a struggle from there to reckon any names of note.

He needed to fight Tony and then he needed to go up to Welterweight. Fights against Nate Diaz, Usman and Masvidal even Covington would have been huge.

Khabib is probably a fighter that could have been the GOAT but I think what he left in the table is more than what he left with.

    @raznomore
Ultimately it's subjective. Khabib ticks a lot of boxes for people (dominant wins, undefeated, good public image etc.) but he only has 3 title defences and only fought in one division. GSP has a couple of losses (both of which he avenged) but 9 belt defences undefeated and belts in 2 divisions. Jon Jones has 8 then 3 but lost the title twice due to criminal then doping offences, however of the 3 is the only one still active and may improve his standing with a heavyweight title. In other words, Khabib is the safe choice but with time his record might be looked at more critically (especially if the guys he beat are shown to be overrated).

Missed most of the card but about to watch Anderson Silva retirement fight vs Uriah Hall.

I expect a very focused Hall will run through him. But it would be magnificent if Silva and pull one out one last time.

Really good card with up & comers and guys coming back from injury / loss of form.

Great contests and some super finishes.

    Hall did well. Patient.

White was interviewed after that event and said Adesanya will be fighting Blachowicz for the LHW belt next

Adesanya wanted the fight. White claims he preferred a MW defence vs Whittaker. However he put the blame on Whittaker's interviews where he said he didn't care about a rematch

I guess Whittakers comments made that a hard fight to sell

Adesanya will not have to give up the MW belt

I think I'm correct in saying no man has held two belts and then gone back down to defend the first one again?

Maybe thats the plan - win the LHW, defend the MW then a super fight with Jones at LHW?

Potentially another kiwi in the UFC

Blachowicz was impressive vs Reyes but he is relatively slow and definitely beatable (8 losses in his career). I'd say Izzy will pick him apart. Regardless of what happens with Jon, he won't be able to resist a superfight with Izzy. Will be one of the biggest fights in history of the sport if it comes to pass, though especially if JJ has the HW belt.

Haven't seen much of Ulberg but if his teammates are to be believed then he is a serious talent.

Contender series had some good finishes today and Ulberg did the business. He’s got some very Izzy-esque feints. He’s got to tighten up with his striking. He throws to kill but he’s very off balance. Looks a great prospect for the Ufc. He’s almost too good looking and he’ll be a hit with the ladies and I’d imagine some men...

RDA v Islam Makhachev is off because of injury

Felder steps in at 5 days notice to fight RDA. It's still a five round fight.

Felder is a gangsta for losing 20 pounds and turning up on weight. Lost in a dubious split decision. Only dubious because RDA was clearly the winner.

Didn’t see much of the card as it was 35° today and spent most of it at the beach.

Not official but Hooker suggested he will be fighting Gaethje early next year (nothing signed yet)

Lot's of huge fights coming up at lightweight

    McGregor v Poirier
    Ferguson v Chandler
    Hooker v Gaethje (probably)

Edit: Ferguson v Oliveira confirmed now. Chandler needs to fight someone... that might bump Hooker

Impressive finish by Holland that started from his back
    alt text

Oliveira dominated Ferguson. 12 wins in a row for Ferguson and now 2 losses in a row. Will be interesting to see who he gets matched with next. Maybe Hooker or Felder?

Amazing flyweight championship fight. Moreno has a habit of exceeding expectations
