Still trying to get some oil, what I hear is most of the gaps
Are being filled out of the Crusaders academies .

4 or 5 new players and 3 extra short term contracts to cover
Bridge,Ennor and Matale all having potential late starts due to injuries.

@Chris Fihaki might be worth a shot for one of the short term contracts whilst the injured cavalry make their way back.

He might get a full contract as he can play FB as well as wing, especially if we play Havilli in the Mid field to cover Ennors injury.

@ACT-Crusader Im 90% sure he already has one and if not it will definitely be a development contract he’s not a bad pick up.

Ok, he had a development contract last season outside the 38 man squad. The Crusaders have a few young players training with the squad and on some pocket money about 5 or 6 players.

I hear he has a full contract for this season but not 100% confirmed.

There is a great depth of young props and LFs not so much locks the better locks in the system are in the 17 to 18 year old bracket.

List of 2020–21 Super Rugby Aotearoa transfers - Wikipedia

Looking at this breakdown, there's not many spots available unless Razor is cutting people.

    Harmon and Paea need replacing.

Will Romano sign on for another year (or is he already replaced by Sam Whitelock)?

Hard to see many of the forwards being cut. Most at risk might be Harry Allan and Ethan Roots.

Might be a few at risk in the inside backs and midfield.

He was good for Harbour this year though.

@Tim Yeah - mainly just looking for any potential for changes - there's a lot either locked in or sure to be locked in.

It might be a somewhat dull announcement for the Crusaders.

From the Mako, Sam Matenga and Isaac Salmon are tightheads worth looking at.

Cirikadaveta would thrive as a Hurricanes lock! πŸ™‚

Renton, Fox-Matamua and Norris all available (I think) and decent squaddie options.

Dwayne Polataivao was decent with limited opportunities - and Tim O'Malley probably even moreso.

Tima Faingaanuku probably the other unsigned option worth looking at.

Edit: I think the Crusaders have Segner under lock and key - he might get Harmon's spot. I liked everything I saw from him.

Romano I hear may go around one more year

Allen maybe cut I hear some interest in Tamati Williams even though he is a TH as Bower can play LH

Segner I think has Harmons spot

Biggest question who for Paea and Finau and who gets short term contracts to cover Mataele,Ennor and Bridge for a month to 6 weeks.

@Yeetyaah Yeah - Cirikadaveta falls between two stools a bit. Too small for lock, but maybe lacking a bit of mobility for flanker. The Canes like small locks (their fans are less keen)! πŸ™‚

@Chris Segner looks class to me.

Got a few of those steely Germanic traits that somehow blew into Richie McCaw. πŸ™‚

Tima might be a good option as short term cover for Mataele.

Razor might consider designating Havili or Big Leicester as midfielders - though I'm pretty doubtful about the latter, at present.
