so, i've joined F45 for something different. First class this morning. Was actually pretty fun. fucking hard though, i was absolutely ruined by the 30 minute mark (it was a high intensity cardio class). Was good to be training with other people, and i like the fact i don't have to follow some fit fluffybunny up the front, it's all on screens.
need to find a pilates class.

The local gym here do this thing called Blaze which I think is similar to F45. Combination of cardio, boxing and weights, all done with a few in the class and with our HR monitored etc - sort of a competition.
I was looking to sign up, and so had a complimentary class.
Decided to run marathons instead, as it would be easier.

@MajorRage we'll see how it goes. Resistance class in the morning. I like the fact it is constantly mixed up.
-
Good second class!
And played touch tonight and didn't injure anything. Things are looking up

Cocky.
That'll come back to bite.

wow. Been going for a month
still loving it. 5 mornings a week.
-
@mariner4life what are we talking about here?
Cause if you've had time to exercise 5+ times a week I hate you
And if that's 5+ roots a week I really, really, dislike you. I also would applaud you, but yeah. I'd hate you.
Sigh.

no, it's definitely workouts. 5 mornings a week (take fridays off after touch on a Thursday night)
The other is slowing up as the wife is doing the 5am class...

getting old huh? twinged my back doing deadlifts on Tuesday morning. Nothing too serious, but i am conscious enough to take a couple of mornings off trainings.
didn't even have big weight on it!
anyway, upshot of training 5-6 times a week is i am actually putting on weight. I am now the heaviest i have been since i started training for triathlons more than 3 years ago.
rig is coming along well considering i am addicted to sugar, rich food, and beer.

haha, this post is even better after reading the last one
so, i'm doing something a bit different. I'm 4 days in to the F45 45-day challenge. Effectively, for 45 days, i'm only taking on 2,000 calories a day, while maintaining my full training regime. Reasons are three-fold:
While my body is pretty well balanced, i do have a little bit of soft stuff around the middle i would like to get rid of. At my age, and with my lifestyle, that is going to take something a bit different than just working harder.
I really need to kick the sugar habit, so a big part of this is zero lollies at work, and ice cream at night. I also need to get my beer habit back under control.
The wife really wanted to do it, so i am supporting her.Challenge is pretty well set up. Meal plans available. A big recipe library on the app, good support from the F45 staff. Another 41 days seems a looooong way off though. I'm using an app to calorie count which is bloody good. And so far it hasn't been an issue to stay under (actually i have had a bit of a stomch bug the last 3 days, so it's piss easy).
Never been on a diet before (other than the "eat everything all the time to keep weight on" diet) so we'll see how it goes. And if i make it! Some of the food is very tasty, it's just very small, and not shit i love to eat.

@mariner4life so if a beer has about 150 calories, thats 13 beers per day. If you can sleep for 11 hours, thats 1 per hour.
Doesn't feel like enough

i've done the math, i know what i can eat and still have 10 stubbies...

@mariner4life 45 days is a serious commitment, good luck with it. I lasted 2 days trying dry Jan, and I only started mid-month 🤦

look, i'm realistic enough to know i am going to have a few drinks in that time. no way i go dry
i found these full-strength Vodka Seltzer cans (vodka mineral water and lime) that are only 85 calories and are fucking refreshing in the heat.
I will also have to have a couple of cheat days here and there. I love food too much to deny myself for that long!! but if i can go 90-10 on target there should be some decent results at the end.
The training seems to have ramped up too, i have been setting personal records this week.

If you hold 90/10 , you'll be killing it.
I'm looking forward to some seriously grumpy posts from you in here in 3 weeks....😀

I started an intermittent fasting diet a couple of weeks ago (think it was about 4th of Jan actually) have shed just over 2kg so far.
Some days are tougher than others - like today, morning tea at work for a retirement!!
Its the stuff around my middle that is the issue too, particularly the lower part of my stomach, but gonna be tough to shift that specifically, goal weight is 95kg, was 98.6kg this morning.
-
i was kinda doing that for the last part of last year. I stopped eating breakfast, and essentially wouldn't eat until lunch. but gradually the snacks started creeping in around 10, and then i was essentially just skipping breakfast
I'm hoping to not lose too much weight actually, i am just hoping it redistributes. the body scan reckons i should be 81 kegs, which is what i did that first 1/2 Iron Man at. that's too light i reckon.
-
@taniwharugby i just can't find the motivation. U know i should, but I can't.
Like today, I'm finishing work at 2pm , I'll head home to hang with the kids. Wife is going out.
Its 30 degrees so I'll be swimming, drinking beers all avo, then will cook myself a steak and polish (not Polish) off a good red once the kids are down.
How is a man supposed to fast/diet/not drink under these cirumstances???
