Just the 4 of us now Tier 4.
Kids presents, run, start on the wellington, grazing snacks, mull with the Neighbour’s, open a 2002 Bordeaux, finish Wellington, gorge, Nap.
Churros, port, movie with kids.
That’ll be it. Can’t whinge really!
Sounds perfect mate, Taking the Caterham out for a spin?

@Victor-Meldrew she’s SORN’d mate. Back in April.
Like life in the UK!
-
@Victor-Meldrew bro we've got too much food. You're welcome to sit out in the backyard and feed off what we throw out the sliding doors, it's just us two.
-
@Catogrande estimate corkage around half past fuck off with drinking commencing around 30 after that.
-
@Bones
Ha ha! I've actually got a 6 person Christmas dinner in the freezer.I'm probably going to have a rib-eye I bought from the farmer opposite a month or so back with a 1999 Kalimna Bin 28, some Delia Smith Christmas Pudding Ice Cream & finish off the 1/8 bottle of Johnnie Walker Green Label. This will need to be worked around the Zoom call schedule.

Arguably the most apt description I've heard of life at the moment...

Nice choice. I've still got two bottles sitting in the wine fridge of this vintage, plus some more of the 2003.
Under-rated bottle when it came out but has aged very nicely.
Cheers

Bought 6 bottles of 2000 Birchwood McLaren Vale Shiraz a year or so ago. Bargain at £14 a bottle.
-
Yep. Keeps forever.
I'm starting to move away from Bordeaux and taking a punt on decent Oz reds. Stick ing with Rioja & Chateau Musar as dependable, reliable reds.

Loving the "Fuck Covid but by Christ we'll make the best of what we can" attitude in here. It's obviously pretty shit, but I hope Christmas is enjoyable despite Covid's worst efforts.
Looks like the worst will be over by Spring with the vaccine roll-out. Just in time to get the GSX out again...

What can you do?
To be honest, on all the WhatsApp chats I’m on most ppl are being very British. Keep Calm and Carry On.
Yeah ppl are annoyed, but the UK has always done Xmas right. Indulge, enjoy, deal with the fallout later.

@RoninWC Bin 28 being Shiraz? If so, I think I’ve tried it but only relatively young. Sadly we don’t seem to get much of the good SH stuff up here.
Yes, a Shiraz from Barossa in SA.

Not sure if you have seen but on the most recent just dropped episode of The Grand Tour, Captain Slow James May is driving a Caterham around Reunion Island.
After watching the episode, I now have a much greater appreciation for that car, hats off @MajorRage

Oz reds can be great, but I really struggle with the last few years of Shiraz, particularly from the Barossa. The warmer temperatures have meant they really struggle to keep the alcohol down, and its really hard to find one with less than 14.5%, often a full 1% higher.
I prefer McLaren Vale, Coonawarra, Clare Valley more now.

Wirra Wirra McLaren Vale is a ripper especially at the price.
