Fuck's sake. I turn on the telly to watch the rugby...
Yeah, I had a look this morning but didn't see anything ... then remembered it was only AU, so I remembered I don't give a shit!
Pretty tough for sky to sign up and hand over cash for something that didn't have any real plan for what it was!
Expect it to be inked by next week. All my pommy colleagues watch the friday and saturday morning super rugby, so the viewing numbers should be worth it.

@bones I currently work for 3 ....
But seriously, the sample size I have is around 20 people, but the overarching point is that its' hugely popular.
That last comment was tongue in cheek.

apparently its the same in the US, unless someone can correct me. was talking to someone and they were saying ESPN is still listed but theyre not showing any games on the schedule and when they talked to them they said effectively "dont hold your breath"
I wonder if people are just signing up to Stan and using a VPN?

Just a reminder for everyone.
You can find the current week's Super Rugby Aotearoa and Super Rugby AU fixtures in the dark blue box on the Ferns' home page (top right).
Team sheets, highlights, and squads lists with updated injury information, and previous SR and NPC results can be found in the teal coloured box.

Seems a bit shit that there will be no Super Rugby Aotearoa available at all in the UK across any of the channels (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, S4C, Channel 5, Sky Sports, BT, Amazon Prime) that cover Rugby.
The UK's still in fucking lockdown. Surely there must be a few punters out there wanting to see some more than decent footy on a Friday and Saturday morning?
-
As far I can tell Sky Sports in the UK (now owned by Comcast) aren't that interested. Other broadcasters though aren't going to give them free advertising by buying something called Sky Super Rugby Aotearoa.
Something of a disaster for NZR. All this talk about building a global brand and unlocking the supporter base and for the first time since the 1990s NZ Super Rugby games won't be broadcast live in the UK.

@bones At least some Super Rugby has been available in the UK since the days of it being Super Tens back in 1993 or 1994. Think it was a weekly highlights show back then. Perhaps there were games available as delayed transition after that. I remember for sure watching the 2000 Super Rugby Final live in the UK with a lot of students in a bar in Cambridge.
I have a feeling that for most of the noughties there were a couple of live Super Games a week, highlights of the rest.
