I don't get why kiwis call sweeties "lollies" so annoying, a lolly is hard boiled sweet on a stick, and an ice lolly is a sweet syrup frozen on a stick..

God this is a thread in itself. Being from the Midlands we say some things differently to southerners and northerners too. Nothing as ridiculous as "lollies", just "baps" "gullies" "gambols"....
