@bayimports The Dogs also have Dufty.
It seems they'll get Paul Vaughan as well. They'll likely get him for cheap too.
Just on talent alone, they are significant pick ups. Coach is going to need to step up as well to get the most out of these misfits ha ha
With Luke Thompson, Paul Vaughan, Josh Jackson, Raymond Faitala-Mariner and Tevita Pangai Jr in their pack, they shouldn't have too much problem rolling up field.
Their backline still has a couple of holes in it, but they should be far more threatening on attack next season.
Where?
- Duffty
- Addo-carr
- Cotric
- Naden
- Allan
- Burton
- Flanagan
That's an insane backline. Especially vs what they had this year
Not convinced about their centres, especially on defense. Cotric is a decent runner but doesn't look like a proper centre - he looks more like a winger than a centre.
None of their halfback options are consistent, but who knows, maybe the new additions help improve their performance. Not sure if Flanagan will be their starting halfback, he's out of favor at the Dogs and has been shopped around to Super League clubs.

Walsh playing a significant half role so far and doing a lot of kicking on the last play..and its shit. Allows Souffs back in 6-6
and now kicks dead from kick off

@bayimports the Warriors can’t do the basics. Doesn’t matter how much time you spend in the gym when you give away position and possession so easily.

yeah basic errors costing them, no doubt about it today..could be a big score against them today
-
@bayimports South’s rolling down the field like they are on a training run.
-
they have given up already today and it is still not half time..
-
Two good tries there by the warriors. All cane from actually having a dangerous 9.
Otukolo needs to start. He offers more than egan and tevaga

They score twice but there is nothing in their D today so not sure anything changes.
True but you have to take your positives with this team... because they dont happen often.
South’s score after 2 minutes.

After 26 years of this, maybe it’s time for the Warriors to just be kicked out for another Australian team. The players themselves seemed to give up on defence about the time Ivan Cleary left…
Bah.
But we have the messiah Cameron George and his merry men (minus one now Gus has gone) who are leading the Warriors to ultimate success. (Warriors fans still peddle this even now after at least three years of failure under George).
-
I wonder if anyone has thought of trying to start up a NZ Based pro comp that is a higher level than the rep stuff the club players go into. Like a League version of Super rugby. It would be a lower level than NRL but almost as strong as Super League. Have a few Aussie imports in each team. Maybe a few Aussie based teams. Newtown Jets, North Sydney Bears.

I didn't know Gould had left. At least he got us Walsh

i don't support/hate George, however you can hardly blame him for insane injury toll, having to live away from home continuously (with players who we know some of are anti vax, some of whom are so soft they can't live away from home for work), which were not bought under his ownership. We started to turn a corner defensively last year under Payten, who they tried to secure but went to N Qld. There are few coaches that have got the best out of the warriors and at least he had the balls to get rid of Kearney who has a first grade coaching record that is woeful...everywhere.
To be honest I didn't expect a complete change in fortunes due to the situation, but some times you do need to put 3 years into perspective..
