    What are your favourite channels?

I find Ian McCollum's Forgotten Weapons channel on the history of firearms development to be pretty interesting and entertaining.

YouTube is fucken great, I wish I had it as a young guitarist/bassist. You can guarantee that no matter how random a song is there’s some nerd who’s put together a half hour video on how to play it.

These days I enjoy it for music reviews, tips on how to do more chin ups, how to punch a punching bag more effectively, how to brew beer, how to make hot sauce etc.

It was devastating over ten years ago when the company I worked for banned YouTube ( amongst other sites ) thank god I can access it when I want nowadays.

@tim Forgotten Weapons is pretty interesting, and he's got a deep back catalogue too.

    Other channels I like:

World War Two in realtime - weekly show that chronicles WW2 weekly. There's a WW1 version too.
Cynical Historian - US historian, bit pompous at times, but interesting.
Knowing Better - General knowledge channel about random stuff. Ex military like Cynical Historian actually.
Cold Fusion - A kind of business/tech channel by an Aussie dude.
Aten Shei Films - A New Orleans/Civil War/Massachusets around the Witch trials times historian. Does funny vids where he plays a Union and a Confederate soldier.
Mark Felton - Another history one of mostly WW2.
Trash Theory - A music channel where the guy looks at a song or album.
    Extra Credits - A game design/history channel.

@Machpants Agree on Map Men, think History Buffs is ok but he's a bit pompous at times (in an annoying way as compared to Cynical Historian), and only found Viva La Dirt League by accident recently - their first person shooter ones cracked me up.

It's so good. I framed, insulated and lined a 40 square metre 4th bedroom/office in the downstairs of our house from cinderblock walls during lockdown 2020, and then built a mancave earlier this year by segmenting off part of the basement, all from watching YouTube videos about how to do things. It's such a great asset for DIY, or for just watching random street fights frustratingly filmed in portrait mode with screaming women in the background.

Seems to be a thing but fuck it’s unnecessary and annoying.

Right, another gripe for the GOM thread.

Started watching this guy as I've been binging on diy home hydro set ups. I have sweet F all mechanical knowledge or skills but this is hypnotising. Something so cool about getting old machinery working, and how he goes about fixing stuff and working out the problems.

Also a long term viewer of Destiny - a gamer turned political commentator/debater. He's been an interesting guy to follow and his video on Joe Rogan's beef with CNN was really good.

Won't bore anyone with Total Warhammer suggestions, but Turin (multiplayer) and Legend of Total War (campaign) are great content creators.

There’s plenty of people doing sneaker reviews and reveals, but this guy is probably the best when it comes to bball kicks and Air Js.

Not quite sure how the world famous mass murderers favourite weapon is forgotten! Du like the channel though, some of the obscure stuff is pretty cool
