Melbourne Earthquake

@antipodean Melbourne has the odd tremor that people hardly ever feel, but that was a big one by Melb/Vic standards. I’ve never felt the house shake like that ever.

Hope you're all well and safe.
I was working late in Tokyo the evening that big one (6.9) hit Kobe in 1995. The office shook seriously for 45-60 seconds. I didn't think that much, went home, and every single Japanese TV stations was showing a map of Japan with one side red. Only then I knew it was huge.
Pictures came out the next day, wow.

Felt it here in the inner northern Melb suburbs but all good and safe. Partner having flashbacks to 2011 Christchurch isn't ideal.
Largest on land earthquake in Aus since 1997 apparently.
yes, mrs womble was upstairs in a doorway crying, shes bounced back luckily, shes the COVID lead for her company and so has plenty to distract her...will see how we go when she stops for the day though
-
@kiwiwomble Yeah good point about after work - we can't exactly go out to a venue/event to distract haha.
