@mn5 Fuck yeah, now you’re talking. David Arnold put out a remix album years ago and this one gets a good thrashing in the JC household (and car) pretty often. Needs to be loud.

Back to John Barry…….shit, what a genius. This score is chilling…..

…..and this is just cool as anything.

I love one of the YouTube comments…..

“This theme makes me wanna goto an apartment building and fight everyone and work my way up to the top floor and kick some ass”

If you want to include APP then it has to be Sirius as it's played as intro music for so many sports teams.

Absolutely…..but I always thought of it as the intro to Eye in the Sky….not it’s own song as such ?

Siruis is a great intro, but Mammagamma is the big instrumental track on that album.

    Favourite of the Glimmers.

The Eagles "Journey Of The Sorcerer" may be strangely familiar to some folks

After writing and producing Bat Out Of Hell, Jim Steinman did his own album, including this great instrumental orchestral track

Maybe classical music does not count, but Sky's version of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor is all kinds of awesome. Maybe I played too much Gyruss as a kid (this was the music for that game), but the addition of electric guitars, and most importantly drums to this tune makes it rock. It starts slowly, but once the drums kick in...

I was going to suggest this myself and even listened to the full length song last night. Self-indulgent is right.

Maybe some King Crimson next like "Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part One".

You have to go pretty far down the 70's self indulgent rock to surpass Rick Wakeman's three concept albums in that period
