Anyone seen Dave? Had it recommended.
I just need to finish Kingdom, Yellowstone, Wheel of Time, The Great, Morning Wars, See, Cowboy Bebop first
school holidays, so my son has now commandeered the TV at night to grind NBA 2K22 so i haven't even finished the 9-part Arcane yet!!

So I finished the full Only Fools and Horses series (have a couple of specials to watch, but looks like a couple are doco's so wont be rushing to watch)
So, so good!
Plenty of genuine laughs, and it is certainly different humour than many of todays comedy shows, alot more PG level.
@Nevorian my fave episode was the one where Del entered Rodney in the art competition and they won a trip to Mallorca, that was hilarious!!
Vaguely remember that episode but might have to have a rewatch

Finished The Morning Show and thought it was great. It’s full of actors I thought were lightweights but who’ve proved me wrong. I also assumed it would be very preachy left in its message but it doesn’t pull its punches on anybody. The thing I’ve come away with most strongly is that they may get paid $25m a year but who would ever want to live like that?
Also finished this and was more than surprised. Initially I thought it would be a comedy given the cast. 10mins into the first episode and I was thinking this comedy sucks. Turned out to be a great story that isn't partisan in its exploration of issues. Well acted, well written.
I'm surprised to not see more talk of this show generally.
Are you meaning S2 or S1? This was hugely hyped and talked about for S1 as it was one of the first big Apple TV+ dramas.
I haven't watched S2 yet due to other shows being ahead on my list and the absence of one of the actresses from S1.

For the Sci-Fi fans, the two series currently available on Apple TV+, Invasion and of course, Foundation are definitely worth the watch.
But, be aware, both start out very slow and are your classic slow burners but IMO, both are excellent series and by mid-series, I was hooked on both.
I finished Foundation last night and it really left me wanting more, cannot wait to see season 2 never having read the series.
Invasion has two episodes remaining, ep. 9 drops tomorrow morning and Ep. 10 next Friday.
My advice, stick with them because they are worth it.

@roninwc I liked the look of Invasion but had seen many poor reviews, so was gonna wait until done and binge it.
I can understand why early reviews have been negative, because I have to admit, I struggled with eps 2-4 but 5-8 have been much better and now I understand the first few eps much better with the story and plot being drip fed throughout the eps.
One of those series where the whole is much better than the parts, especially the first 3-4 eps.

Finished Kingdom. Yeah easily one of the best things I've watched, if not the best. Really struck a chord with me and pretty sad to see it end. Man the last episode really hits ya in the feels (as do plenty of other episodes, but geez that last one).

Maid: Not the usual type of Fern show we discuss, but this was one of the best shows I've watched this year.
It's about a woman who escapes an abusive relationship with her child and gets a job as a lowly paid and poorly treated maid. It's not even an enjoyable watch for most of it's 10 episodes but it has some of the best, most natural performances I've ever seen.
Margaret Qually (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) plays the woman and I think it's one of the best performances I've ever seen. I fully believed she was the character and couldn't see the acting strings being pulled. Her Mum is played by Andie MacDowell (who is her real life Mum), she's one of those free spirit artists with mental health issues which is a role that could fall into cliche, but it doesn't. Most of the other actors are good too, including the partner who once I read his IMDB page I realised I'd watched him in stuff previously but had no idea it was him.
Worth a watch if you want to see something different from the usual fare.
About half way through this, believe it or not I recommended it to the other half based on “some guy on the site I visit said it was ok”….and yeah, we’re both enjoying it so far. Not sure what it is about it but it’s interesting enough.

@roninwc I'm the opposite.
Invasion, Foundation and now Wheel of Time complete a trifecta of underwhelming shows that fail to deliver for me.I have persevered with Invasion, but the best thing about it IMO is the opening credits. Still waiting for it to get going. Zero empathy for any of the main characters
I gave up on Foundation. Glaciers move faster.
Only three episodes into WoT but I find it annoying. The CGI is really poor and I'm pretty sure Jordan never intended it to be so fucking woke. I keep falling asleep during it so hardly gripping me.

I wondered about the wokeness also, the feminist stuff is quite jarring from the start. Did I forget that from the books (I know there is an element of it, braid-tugging and woolly headedness etc) , or does the show go further?
