    Rebels missing some of their better players

    Wallabies’ trio Rob Leota, Andrew Kellaway, and Pone Fa'amausili will be unavailable for the season opener but will be pushing for selection in the coming weeks. Lock Trevor Hosea will unfortunately be sidelined for the next three-months following a footinjury

    Looks like Rebels have the same old attack issues. They get into a good position and they struggle to create. Lots of one off runners and poorly timed passes

    Maybe they scored here? Nope. They screwed it up again

    Fucking atrocious weather for Rugby, even before the rain arrived.

    February in sweaty, shitty Brisbane is not a happy place for dynamic contact sports.

    I'm prepared to give Gordon the benefit of te doubt as it is week 1, the conditions are shit, and he's got Powell flinging rubbish. To'omua is also running too deep outside him.

    @nta

    Yeah too early to judge Gordon

    It’s the same issues the team has had for ages though. They dominate periods of the game but don’t convert that into points. They play far better outside the opponents 22. Maybes it’s more mental than technical issues or tactics?

    @duluth yeah agree. Adjusting to a new coach as well, with the same old baggage.

    They're also using a lot of players who are Clubbies and used to dominating at that level through size and not much else. Missing a few of their better players. Could be competitive if some of the European based players were back here.

    Interesting tactics, whether it was the conditions or countering the rush defense, the Reds really attacked through the middle.
    Salakaia-Loto and Wilson looked busy for Reds I thought.
