The issue now is our lineout is fucking useless with Horton on. We're not as powerful in the second row. Everything is a lottery

Yeah first half was enjoyable, I could forgive the errors, cos that is some shit weather. But there was real lack of brains in adjusting to it in the second half

The Reds just did EXACTLY what the Tahs were penalised for earlier - latching player going straight to deck

Why the fuck go for a droppy when you have advantage right in front? Surely you roll the dice and at least try and score a try.

NSW lose a game they should've won by miles because they fielded a second grade five-eighth and some gingers. Just some unbelievably stupid, panicky shit.

And the Reds' coach is employed on reputation as a player.

@nta I watched him (Edmed) and that guy with the huge long Fijian name playing Shute Shield when we used to get it in NZ. Boy they were both very average.

He's solid but think young Harrison will take that spot

He'll need to improve his pop gun kicks.

Young reds bench 9 was good

Get Donaldson off the fucking field.

    Edmed on. Another Clubbie

Are some of the selections based on things other than actual playing ability? Using an example Eastwood have Edmed, Mark Nawaqanitawase and Ed Craid all playing Soper Rugby. Either the standard of players available in those positions (1st five, wing and hooker) are not great or maybe other things are at play when squad positions are handed out. Using Tom Horton as another example, was he even first choice at Sydney Uni last season?

Perfect match for the refereeing, when you think about it.

DAYmon gave the Reds a yellow card warning then failed to follow through. He let them seal off the last set of rucks at the death. He probably called about 3 knocks-on that weren't, and let go a few that were.

But the Tahs butchered at least 2 tries, their lineout went to shit when it mattered, which was no surprise because Horton. He needs to be replaced.

Other than that, it was more entertaining than I'd bargained for, and the Tahs might be keen to get Hooper back, but not as keen as they are to keep Gordon fit.

He's going to play a LOT of minutes unless we get a blowout win or 2.

Here's the thing: if you play First Grade in one of the 5-6 dominant Sydney clubs, you look better than you actually are.

And then you might end up at Sydney Uni, or not, and maybe get a Wallabies contract.

Or you come through as an U20 player, and therefore also never get any real domestic challenge for your spot, and come in that way.

    The system is fucked.

The decision-making by both sides in that game is why we're not beating the Kiwi teams.

You give any of the NZ teams the break Pietsch made and then the overlap that Donaldson threw a harbour bridge piece of shit for, and they're in under the posts. The Reds were utterly spent on defence and it was a simple try with no pass needing to go more than 3 metres.

That isn't just Donaldson - that's everyone around him not making the call. A lot of these guys aren't far from club rugby with a few exceptions, and it shows.
