Yeah... I mean, the phrase "throw like a girl" didn't pop out of nowhere.
The whole tournament's been a weird mixture of atrocious and brilliant fielding.

I watched three of the first maybe six games on my third screen while at work. I reckon I saw more dropped catches in those three games than about five seasons worth of watching mens cricket. It was incredibly substandard fielding.

I think I saw two sixes across three games.

I like that the sport is getting mainstream coverage, but the above is also the reason why I doubt it'll ever come close to parity with mens cricket.

This Ismail sounds like quite the fighter. 3x6's to finish the over?

The other cringey thing was the commentators being apologetic about Covid-19 being the reason for there being 200 people in the crowd for something like South Africa v Bangaldesh, as if it would have been a sell out without any restrictions.

I expect NZ games would have had an okay attendance, but the others?

I want to see Kapp be the final wicket. She's been having a go at all her own players.

To be fair to the commentators, just prior to the tournament the organisers cancelled and refunded all the Venue packs that they'd sold about a year ago, and then three days later they tried to get us to buy family passes to the individual games at effectively three and a half times the price that we'd already paid - and for school day games. Thanks but no thanks CWC organisers... we didn't take them up on it...

Feck. Got to at least bat out your overs, and we didn't do that...

Two games taken to the wire and two lost.
I stopped watching for a bit but why wasn’t our most economical bowler bowled out?

Yep, dumb batting at the end. Even 4-5 singles per over gets NZ another 10 runs. But nah, let's go for the big shot...

Honestly, NZ didn't deserve to win. Tahuhu might be quick but has absolutely no control.

Probably for the same reason our best bowler over the last two years wasn't selected for the tournament. The White Ferns brains trust is a misnomer sometimes...

Unfortunately, a similar lack of composure by us at the end of that innings as when we batted.

Saffas also had a fair bit of luck with balls falling in vacant areas.

But, we're certainly not unlucky - architects of our own demise.

I think Devine hoped she could pull a Dottin - went for experience.

Bangladesh and Pakistan could do us some handy favours, but if we are to win the whole thing we need to flounder into the play-offs and basically not lose our third wicket until 45 overs are gone in both games.

Mackay over J Kerr was a strange choice for the last over.
