All I’m going to ask is how they hell does someone as bland as Mark Ruffalo become a movie star ?
There are some absolute legends at that table and he stands out like dogs balls.
He's a big-time liberal activist.
That always helps. At least he’s not a dickhead like Shia LeBoef so that’s something.

Will Smith you knob - easy to see who wears the pants in that household
Would be interested to see how the box office figures on his movie are going
i think i saw a headline that all his current projects have been paused

He is toxic all of a sudden

@canefan unless it now comes out he has a long history of outbursts/lack of control, you dont want to see people's carriers ruined for one lapse...but yeah, taking some professional blows for a while as a direct consequence of what he did is just how it goes, just the same as people might not want to work with Chris Rock if they thought his joke was tasteless

@kiwiwomble I watched it again. Nothing about it looks legitimate. If the guy was that offended I would expect him to run up, tackle him or punch him properly. It just looks so staged. I am reminded of Janet Jackson's nipple gate incident which looked totally staged but she insists to this day that it was a wardrobe malfunction. Two stunts that went horribly wrong leaving the protagonists to trot out a different line than they had in mind

Hmmmm, I must remember to YouTube that and decide for myself.

@canefan I just can't see how it was staged. Especially for an uptight, navel gazing event like the Oscars. It's such a dumpster fire for Will I can't see him agreeing to it, or what the intended outcome could have been. I know celebs are typically out of touch and can misread the room etc, but this just screams a mental health issue.
I think Rock has recognised that and isn't turning the screws - not that he needs to. That one slap and Will's follow up yelling has eroded his entire career.
I hope he bounces back but as long as he's hitched to Jada you have to wonder if he'll ever get clear of the memes. Even if he leaves her (or she leaves him) that'll open up another round of shit. Really hope he doesn't do anything to himself.

It looked staged as fuck……but then again I agree with all your points above.

pretty much exactly what i thought...slap looks fake...the yelling, the swearing, Rocks reaction and "apologising"...did not

Do people really think Smith is going to lose his career over this? This is Hollywood. I don't think he's in any danger of losing his career.
Nah. It's not like he drugged and raped a bunch of women for years(Cosby), raped a bunch of women or pressured them for sex (Weinstein) or spoke out against the current woke cancel culture (Carano). Pick the person whose punishment by her peers seemed disproportionately harsh compared to the crime...

Yeah but that was all behind closed doors so it’s fine.
Smith slapped someone in public. Much worse.

@nepia as i say, if this turns out to be one of those thing where people start coming out of the woodwork talking about all the other outbursts that just didn't happen to be at the oscars...maybe
If not, then i expect him to be quiet for a bit and then have a "comeback" hit
final option is he goes "fuck it, im a gazillionare and i'm sick of all your shit" and chooses to step away

@paekakboyz too good eh!
