Paul Coll on the other hand has been imperious

Cruises through to the Men's Final with a 3-0 thrashing of India's Ghosal

    The King Is Dead

No 1 seed in the Ladies squash, Joelle King, is thrashed in the first SF of the day by Canadian Holly Naughton

Final score 3-1 with Naughton's guile bamboozling King

    Huge upset

    Game of her life

    Magnificent

She was shaky in the QF too

White Ferns look well on track to make the semi finals with Sri Lanka 32/5 chasing 148.

A reminder of the value of the DRS, with two relatively straightforward dismissals both being given not out initially.

I'm very disappointed in the womens hockey.
It used to be worth watching for the quality of the players rather than the playing quality. This generation seem very average.
The Pole Vault however is an easy watch

Great win for Kennedy (Eng) to reach the Ladies Final

And Aberdare’s own Joel Makin dispatched Willstrop of England 3-0 to meet Paul Coll in the Men’s Final.

It’s gone with seeding and is a repeat of the 2018 SF

Going to be new Gold medal winners in both Ladies and Men’s Finals

@MiketheSnow nothing to add except squash is the most 80s sport ever and every participant should have to play in retro uniforms for authenticity

Argh, we blew that Bronze medal match in the Woman's 3-on-3 Bball. We had the Aussies on the ropes.

The England / Aussie gold medal match in the Men’s was intense as. Big win for the home team.

Canada got the bronze in another tight game. The three best teams got the medals and there wasn’t much in either of them all tournament.

Our two mountain bikers are out in front 1-2 with a 30+ second lead. Going great

And they did it, gold and silver for the mountain bikers. Gaze gets back to back Comm Games gold.

Happy for Ben Oliver who came 4th four years ago, and gets the silver

The Namibian did well to get the bronze, breaking away from a small group.

Extremely average course. Most of it was more like cyclocross on a dirt track. Nothing like the Olympic level in technical features. Suited a rider like Gaze that does road as well although he did also keep making ground on the few technical bits.

Great that the two of them cleared away on the first lap and stayed there.

Pretty sure that Pidcock would have ridden away if he was there. Gaze would have given him a battle though.

Hobbs runs 6th? Maybe 5th. Not bad for a white girl.

    Edit: 6th. 2/100ths behind 4th.

Yeah, a good effort for 6th. A pity Zoe couldn't run a PB.

She already did one in the quarters didn’t she? Has reduced her time a few times recently so big ask to do so again in the final.

I think her PB was in the heats in Eugene. As someone said on the Stuff blog, Hobbs has had a long season just to qualify. I was just hoping she would be pulled along by the faster runners in the final.

Fantastic squash final between Coll and Makin.

    Great watch.

Down to the wire but Coll’s superior all round game saw him home

@Bovidae Read an article about how underfunded our swimmers are and how well they have done. How many medals have we won overall in the pool?

New Zealand ended fourth on the swimming medal table with five golds, two silvers and two bronzes.
