Only if he moved here without his parents/family.
I was more meaning that he went to school in Oz. Is he a resident of NZ when he's doing his schooling over there?

So if his parents live in NZ then that would be considered his parental home and it would be counted for his residency purposes, even though he lives most of the year in Oz?
