@Machpants said in Stupid shit you see on the internet:
Apparently, this statue is a person squatting down, to be installed at Imperial College London.
The artists Angel of the North was a bit better!
Fuck knows what they would make of Barbara Hepworth...

When headlines are fucking stupid!
About halfway down the page it mentions the vehicle was booked for him and his wife (plus guide dog)

And right next to that
No surprise teachers are leaving in droves, including my wife at the end of the term. The MoE official line is if a student is not engaged it is purely the teachers fault.
Even if, as is the case ATM with covid related absences, said teacher had never even seen the student.

@Machpants yeah I read that one too, it's a joke!
Been a few times over the last few years TR Jnr texts me at 11 or a time he should be in class and I either ignore him or reply saying arent you in the middle of class?
Might need a mini-rant in the parenting thread!

Not on the Internet, but I'm sitting in the doctor's waiting room when this flashed up on the info screen:
"If you have an elderly relative who is having memory problems, tell them they shouldn't forget to speak with their GP"
EDIT: They'd obviously seen the grammatical error as on the way out it had changed to:
*"If you have an elderly relative who is having memory problems, remember to tell them not to forget to mention it when they next speak with their GP"

That's cruel

I have a feeling @booboo forgot the first line by the time he read the second

@Stockcar86 1814 and 1875 would have been interesting ones
The Dublin whiskey fire took place on 18 June 1875 in the Liberties area of Dublin.[1] It lasted a single night but killed 13 people, and resulted in €6 million worth of damage in whiskey alone (adjusted for inflation).[2] People drank the 6 inches (150 mm) deep river of whiskey that is said to have flowed as far as the Coombe.[3] None of the fatalities suffered during the fire were due to smoke inhalation, burns, or any other form of direct contact with the fire itself; all of them were attributed to alcohol poisoning.
