Geordie telling it like it is,

I know a fair bit about this stuff being around the gym scene all my adult life,

Clomid is a drug prescribed for Women with fertility issues , guys on testostorone cycles take it when the signs are there that some of that test is being converted to estrogen , and post cycle where during the cycle your own test production slows down or stops , this stuff kicks starts your own production faster . Yep messy stuff . its uses in male athletes are obvious , that is why its on the banned list .

But anyway Geordie saying what others are avoiding saying .

Not a bad day for boxing ,

We had Shields beat Marshall in ladies boxing , good fight
Haney beat Kambosis in the rematch , better fight than the first one,
    Plant knocks out Dirrell

Then the welcome back fight for Deontay

Watched the kiwis fight before switching over to the Wilder Helenius card.

Ahio being waved off was possibly the worst stoppage I have seen. Yes he was losing but he had plenty left in the tank and Opelu does tire in fights. Thought that fight had plenty more to offer as the fight went on.

Nyika scored a vicious KO win but got a nasty cut in the process, and I blame that on him unnecessarily changing stances. He didn't need to turn southpaw but kept doing it, and as a result, he'll probably be out for a while now.

That Plant KO, WOW! He was outboxjng Dirrell but wasn't really setting the world on fire until the KO which came from nowhere and boy was it nasty! Hope he gets chucked in with Benavidez next.

Good to see Wilder back and with a trademark KO, albeit against a glass chinned Helenius. Only landed 3 punches the whole fight which is all he needed, and didn't really throw a lot into the shot either, whilst throwing the straight right off the backfoot too. Should set up Wilder v Ruiz next I hope.

Sanchez also picked up a win against Carlos Negron. Again, a drab affair where Negron frustrated Sanchez from the outside, doubling up with the jab to the body and up top where Sanchez was struggling to slip inside to get work done in the pocket until the 9th where he finally nailed him before the ref waved it off. Pretty poor performance from Sanchez though against a very limited opponent. His style is still stuck in the amateurs and lacks any real HW power to make any inroads in the division. Good skillet though, and should get a title shot somewhere down the line, probably 2-3 wins away.

Didn't see the Haney Kambosos fight, but went as I expected judging from what I read.

I love Wilder. Shit that was an innocuous looking shot though. The man sure has some heavy hands.

I think that what makes him most dangerous , is the right hand often comes from a moment in the fight where nothing appears to be happening, it was a pretty nothing type of first round where of a couple of fighters are just feeling each other out , not throwing too much , then boom , one shot ,good night .

Yeah the hemi decision was disappointing, I was starting to get concerned he was wearing shots without returning much , but wasn’t expecting that .

David nyika looked good , impressive shot that ended it.

boxing in Australia is going through a bit of a resurgence, there are a few fighters around in the divisions edging closer to title fights

Yep plant benevidoz is a great match up

Anyone suspect a dive ? I’ve seen more footage and I can’t rule it out personally.

@MN5 Nah, Helenius just doesn't have great punch resistance and has been put down in the past by 2 Wilder victims in Duhaupas and Washington who are both featherfisted by HW standards so if they can put you to sleep, it wouldn't take much for someone as powerful as Wilder to lay you out.

I hear ya. The head definitely jolted but it certainly wasn’t a classic Wilder punch where he winds up and gives it everything. Looked to me like one that wouldn’t put much of a dent in a bag having viewed it a few times.

    I just think it’s a definite possibility.

Wasnt a full power shot with the weight on the back foot and not stepping forward to follow through with the power

But The head certainly snaps back , I think enough there to turn his legs to rubber , probably not others

    That was legit

Totally unprepared for the punch - he thought he’d got his in first

Just needed a tie when he was lying on his back

Internet is certainly divided on it that’s for sure. Lots of arguments either way……

could be our generations “Did Sonny Liston take a dive vs Ali”? ( I sure reckon he did )

    I’m not convinced either way.

the brushing glove would have slowed the punch even further as well !

@Rancid-Schnitzel was just reading about it and saw the two knockdowns. Hunt still has power and he clocked SBW a few good ones.

Not bad for a 48 year old! Wonder what SBW does from here?

    Keep fighting ex-league players?
He's 37. I wonder how long he'll stick with boxing.
Well done Mark Hunt, a triumphant blow for dad bods everywhere!

@nostrildamus with what we know about head injuries and such I'd be wrapping things up. He's been a top class athlete for a long period so hopefully he calls it quits after this fight. He might not want to end on a KO though, that would be tough for a guy who is used to winning.

Getting in the ring with Mark hunt takes fucking guts

Mark Hunt has bombed dudes in to oblivion for an entire career. And I've seen guys hit him with a truck and he shrugs it off

Even at an "advanced" age he's a dangerous human.
