@Higgins A loss to Otago.
That hillbilly look has come from the States!
Ta$man acquire players from anywhere, be it on their own or under the guise of the Crusaders Development/Academy.

@Chris-B I had similar problems with my whangai sons who turned out for Wellington and Bush in games against HB. Needless to say they got positive discouragement in the leadup to the games! Out of respect my gloating afterward everytime was only slightly more than what could be described as muted.

I'm not the target audience either!
I shared it with my partner. Definitely her sort of musik.
Coincidentally my nephew is apparently one of the biggest hip hop artists in Switzerland. Who even knew there was such a thing? Also a top DJ and video artist apparently.
He must have got all his talent from his Mum as my bro seems to think music ended in about 1987.
They split when my nephew was about 6 weeks old (Mum didn't like finding out about my brothers serial womanising including while she was in the maternity ward) so I have only seen my nephew half a dozen times in his life. Wouldn't even know what name he goes under.

@Machpants He is the lead singer of this band I just discovered.
This is an awesome street performance of a mashup featuring 'I shot the sheriff' -

This came up on my feed when googling Burt Bacharach. What a voice.
He's directing Cilla Black with George Martin producing. .

Into Abbey Road legends, that session
Pretty sure that the Neumann mic she is singing into is the same one I saw on display at a small Abbey Road exhibition at the Barbican a few years ago.

@Crucial We've just watched the Bacharach tribute documentary on the BBC and he was talking about this recording of the song (which he rated his favourite).
"We ended up doing 30-40 takes which was really hard on the singer. George Martin thought we should stop at the 4th take but, perfectionist that I am, I wanted to carry on. George, inevitably, was right. We used, I think, the 3rd take...."

I think it is in the recent Abbey Rd doc by Mary McCartney that BB said "I just want a bit of magic' and George pointed him back to that earlier take.

Great story. Jimmy Webb says something pretty much the same about recording with George Martin in his memoir - how he seemed to have an infallible sense of what worked and when to stop.
