Injuries aren’t helping. Missing Love tonight, and Sangster who was impressive last year.
I would start Bird ahead of Blackwell. I would start Delany in that pack somewhere aswell, he’s earned his spot.

Godfrey has a better kicking game and is quicker, and could be slightly bigger. Was quite obvious in the pre season game last week who the better ten was.

Or move Love back to 10 where he hasn’t had too many chances, plus he’s maturing compared to when he last played there. Start Higgins at 12 and move Barrett back to 15 with Moorby to the wing.

Franks is looking his age at times. He somehow knocked the ball forward as a cleaner and got skinned as a pillar on defence. Scrumming OK though.
Scrumming is what he’s there for.
Atleast our first choice front row is on the bench to provide some impact.

@Canes4life Yeah, but don't forget that he just turned 20 and has played only 4 games for the Magpies, including one non-competition game and a game against Poverty Bay. He's a puppy.

Yeah but so is Lynagh (19) and Jorgensen (18) who played last night. If you’re good enough you’re old enough. Nothing much phased him last week so worth a crack I’d say.
Morgan looks like a journeyman first five, we need more than that.

Another option. But I doubt if Jordie will want to move to FB. 1st yes.

Not when you make them early in the season. I see Higgins is over in Aus so I’m sure he will start next week, or at least be in the 23.
