Do Canes have a 3rd halfback that's not TJ? Booth is abysmal this year.

In preseason they used one-game Hurricane Logan Henry. I don't think he's the solution.
The Canes will be desperate for TJP to return.

@Crucial if team was at full strength maybe some hope of not finishing 4th or 5th. But as it is we will likely play away in the quarters. And lose and start looking towards the npc

You have a tough run coming up too. Big question is whether you will play Blues, Saders or Brumbies in the quarters now

Jordan Way is an absolute joke eh. He almost makes Rasta look fair and competent.

Just watched this. All credit to an energetic Drua team. Lomani and Rakuro were great.
IWL regains the title of dumbest player in Super rugby from Paripari. And Canes missed Ardie and Aumua this game. Kirifi never stopped but rest of pack were average. Happy Naholo no longer at Chiefs with his errors.
Procter and Moorby were very good and great try saving tackle from Roigard kept them in the game. Oops just realised Ardie and Aumua were playing...

Ardie managed 3 try saving turn overs in the first 30, could've been much worse

He also stood and watched a lot. That massive break off the scrum down the blind, Ardie looked up, saw it coming, stayed attached to the scrum then just turned and jogged after they'd gone past.

He looked like "past Ardie" today. Didn't seem to have his head on properly.

He's done that an awful lot this season. He cherry picks his moments. It's frustrating.

    He's no Hugh Renton.

To be fair are there any premier ABs that look like they're giving SR everything?

    @KiwiMurph
Many All Blacks are currently very average (JB, RM, RI, AS, Ofa T, Laulala, Taylor, Frizell, just to name a few). Are they programmed to be at the peak of their form in October ?

With BB I think so, guarding himself. Question is, will he/they find their peak if picked for RWC?

@cgrant Ioane had a blinder against the Drua, which is a tough match in Fiji. Tu'ungufasi was very good too.

No other sport in the world is cool with its best players being shit all season based on some mythical "peaking for October"

Maybe, maybe the NBA. But they play 82 games and even then fans will kick the fuck off.

But we've been gaslight by rugby to just accept our best players aren't actually the best players because they are resting for something else.

    It's fucking ridiculous.

Tough watch from a Canes fan
Just a messy game for us, we really lack some game control. Our 10/12 is just not cutting it. Is it about time to look at a different 12? JB is not cutting it. And we really lack quality wingers.

Happy for the FD fans, what a party atmosphere for them.

Part of it because I wouldn't give the slightest of fucks if NZ SR teams lost every single game against foreign teams and played out every NZ Derby to a nil all draw, if the all blacks won every game by a landslide. I enjoy and support SR teams, but don't care with my heart and soul like I do the abs

Actually I would suggest you don't watch Golf, running (marathons etc) Cycling etc etc , there are a lot of sports that particapints actually aim at certain events.
though take your point etc ,it frustrating, just playing devil's advocate and thinking you using a bit of a broad statement when you say NO sports. Even team sports there a lot where teams save players for bigger games., use lesser games as trials, or for resting players.

    Force hold my beer

Moana Pasika say thanks, don't mind if I do.

I understand Force beat a NZ team recently.

And losing to the Sith isn't that shameful.

My post again for reference, emphasis added:
