Donk will be very happy with that. Not only the defensive effort and maul counter but they still didn’t have to do a lot on attack from set piece.
Move DMac back. Add in ALB and Stevenson and their will be better shape

While hear what you are saying about moving DMac back to 10 and agree, I also thought it was one of best fullback performamces of the season last night.

Looked like the Brumbies sustained a few injuries last night.

If the selectors agree then he’s pushing hard with BB for the role of 15 that covers 10.
I feel a bit for Perofeta, as he was groomed all last season as understudy but didn’t get the playing time. His injuries haven’t helped but then again DMac should have been at the last RWC except for injury

Prior to this game, the Chiefs had the worst W-L record in Canberra out of all the NZ teams. This was only their fourth win, so still the worst.

I have to say ,I thought the performance od particulary Jacobson, but also Cane were bloody good. Also I was impressed with whole forward pack, and it's great to see that kiwi teams are learning to counter the driving maul off lineout. We seemed to be unable to find the answer for a while there.

I do wonder if the Brumbies maul is a fairly simple one to defend once you work it out though. They don’t roll much or look to break off.
We also got very good maul reffing that was calling the initial backward move as “once”

It was only a few weeks ago that the Chiefs had zero answers to the Reds maul so this is entirely possible...

    Or they learned some lessons/re-focused.
The maul defence looked pretty simple. Wrap around early and form a semi-circle. Press in from all sides to squeeze the ball out the back.
If there was some good reffing analysis that’s also a good thing.
The defence method reduced the chance of being called for coming in the side.

This was a nice game to watch today, hearing the least educated rugby crowd again making the most noise whinging.
