Feel like Godfrey is a lot like a young DMac (though slightly worse). Does some amazing things which catch the eye, but then also does several poor things across the game. At his size, you have to be that bit more accurate, and though I felt he improved at 10, he did also step up and fling that horrid intercept. Not my cup of tea personally. I like safety in a first five.

Now we need the biggest blow-out win against Japan imaginable to have a minimal chance to reach the 1-4 play-offs. But that England-Ireland draw has basically already stuffed that up. Rigged! 😬

@KiwiMurph I'm just saying this is what he looks like now. He could well mature, but I'm just not really a fan. I think there is a reason why we don't see many midgets playing 10 and 15 in the modern game.

@ACT-Crusader he’s good with ball in hand. if he put the same aggression into his tight loose game & defence he’d look like something approaching a NZ loosie. The less said about the rest of your trio the better.

On the evidence of that match none of your loosies would crack the frog 23. From what I’ve seen of the baby boks only our blindside might crack a bench spot, just.

@frugby Need to see more of him at 10. Don't think it's fair to judge his talent as a 10 by how he goes at 15. He showed some real promise in the second half at 10.

@canefan coulda been closer if the rest of your pack matched your 4’s (Cahill?) attitude. Don’t love his grass cutting tackles. That aside, he was largely man alone at the coalface.

Wasn’t clear who your captain was but he ought to be dropped for dereliction of duty. That pack needed a Shelford style rocket in the worst way.

I know we tend to opt for mobility over size in NZ, but I do think we have to start to look at bigger athletes as well. That's where the game is heading, especially in the NH. Would players such as Tuilagi, Skelton, Meafou etc have been persevered with in NZ? Probably not.

@NTA Could be closer than you'd think. Irish would have beaten England fairly comfortably if not for cards.

We lacked cohesion in the first half, and the service from the HB was laboured

Heard the ref rang Ma‘a for some mascara advice.

Reckon people too harsh it wasn’t a bad effort especially second half. The replacement 9 was great. Needed to play more territory in the first half.

I remember when we used to dominate these tournaments and I used to feel all content with our future talent coming through .

Good luck to S Africa and Italy, who still have to play on this field. (Assuming it's the same field at Paarl).

I don't know if the conditions are typical for this time of year. But if so, this venue as an advertisement for rugby, is not good IMHO. Unless you want to turn back the clock to the 70s

What were they thinking playing all these games at one venue? Is it the same field for each match?

NZ not accurate enough - poor passing ( both execution and options ) and handling, and like the ABs our kicking game is not good enough. French team monsters.

Tamaiti Williams has just been selected as an AB. So maybe yes.
