New lows, interviewing fans for expert analysis of the game. Still probably better than Justin Marshall

Actually Marshy has been good. He's been calling for the same team to be played this year with minor tweaks. This team looks completely disjointed and with 3 easy games coming up Foster is going to change the phuck out of them.

Foster is the worst choice ever. Seems a nice guy but he is just not up to it. The icing on the cake would be losing to Ireland in a ¼ final.

Right now, I’m nervous about Italy.

The senior group of players who went to bat for him in the hotel in South Africa need an uppercut too.

We nearly had him out the door and they convinced Robinson not to pull the trigger.

@Steve Robinson shouldn’t have listened though and should have stuck with his initial instincts.

    Just seen Fosters interview.

What an uninspiring, insipid, wet blanket.

Hmm. Two big turn points cost us. Substitution of Aaron Smith and a howler from Finlay Christie totally lost momentum. Brain explosion from Dalton Papalii in front of the ref cost us heavily and he could have been pinged a couple of minutes later.
Tactics seemed daft in second half. What on earth did Havili bring? Can't quite figure out average kicking game. Mounga saved his day with the glorious try saving tackle. Beauden and Will Jordan were a real mixed bag for me.
Pluses were Mark Telea with his energy, the form of our locks with Brodie back and the work of Ardie in the second half.
Jacobson did a lot of good stuff when he came on. Was Vaii the right selection at 6?
French were great with Mauvaka Alldritt and Penaud standouts for me. Thought Jaco Peyper was very good.
Final comment is why the hell do you sub Telea in that situation when Will Jordan is so rocks and diamonds.
Correction. 3 turn points with the stereotypical high risk turned bad moment from Will Jordan

    20 nil in 2nd

Actually looks like it was 18 nil ... which makes it so much better.

TV credited Fra that last conversion that the touchie didn't.

    Final 27-13

    That is 100% on Foster.

We have a decent platform to build on. Every time we lifted the intensity we made shit decisions and turned the ball over.

    Every fucking time.

He’s an absolute fucking fluffybunny. A useless piston wristed gibbon.

But my real anger is for the numpties who appointed him and re-appointed him.

What a disappointment - again. I was pissed off from early in first half when Ardea decided to take a shot at the posts when France were clearly under the pump and puffing! Watching the kicks this way and that way just too frustrating for words. Be sure to beat Italy in the pool, Ireland in the QF and pull off a miracle against whoever in the Semi-Final and then to see France in the Final?

    @ARHS nailed it re Christie.
He brings absolutely nothing, we’d be much better served playing Smith for 80 minutes every game.

It was a weird game in the heat. Fozzie said "the hotter the better" for us, so I suspect we felt the French would run out of steam. And that absolutely was the case in the first 40, we were excellent and both Beauden and Mo'unga won multiple kicking duals with them, and by the final 10 minutes the French were out on their feet. We really needed to capitalise here but we failed to put on enough points.

I'd say the French would have been unhappy at how much Beauden and Mo'unga were allowed to dictate play in the first half, so came out in the 2nd 40 with a very clear plan to return to basics and pin us in our own half as much as possible. We didn't adapt to this, and got suffocated out of the game - that's the biggest concern, as SA and Ireland will try and do exactly the same thing, so we have to figure out a way to counter it.

However, if we can get some key players fit by the quarter we are every chance. We've always said our depth was thin coming into this, so the number of injuries has obviously hurt.
