Good game. The better team won

Wellington scored and then went to sleep.

And Morgan isn't good enough. Team need a top HB 1st combination and Wellington lack this this year. So, when our forwards aren't on top, we can't rely on our backs to win the game.

@Nepia yeah fair play to Hawkes Bay. You guys were the better team (on the day). Wellington’s 19 game winning streak comes to an end but it might be the loss we need if we want to defend the title.

Maybe the Canes should sign McClutchie. 😉

@J77 you say that like we’ve taken the Shield for granted. It’s been awesome seeing the Shield in the communities around Wellington. No need for stupid comments like that mate.

    HB deserve their victory.

@Canes4life no need to get defensive mate. But really the yellow seats say it all. I'm sure guys like yourself appreciated it, and that's not taking away from how good Wellington have been the last 12 months.. just would have been nice to see the city vote with their feet and show up.

Yeah, reckon all of the NPC teams appreciate the Ranfurly Shield. If Auckland won it, reckon people would go nuts for it, because they haven't had it for so long.

There would be more people at Sky Stadium then you realise... probably 4000-5000 there, which by NPC standards is solid.

Thank you, this supporter here is well on the way to a monumental hangover.

@Nepia Imagine what the scoreline would have been like had the Magpies had a team stacked full of players good enough to be awarded Hurricanes contracts instead of making do with players that can't cut the mustard in their own Super rugby catchment.

Devery seemed to be taking the Ben Franks role of not looking all that happy with the win in those celebrations.

Despite losing I was really impressed with the team to go through so many phases and keep HB at bay for so long. The Wellington teams of old would’ve cracked easily under those conditions.

Man that was a great match. Shame Wellington supporters don't turn up in numbers for any of there teams.

Glad the shield can work on it's tan in the HB summer again.

I think Wellington are still the clear favorites to win it all.

Not trying to not pick but think we need to use some of our big runners inside/outside second receiver. MMT and flanders and Thompson much more dangerous out wider.

Anyway great for the blood pressure another 2 point or less HB win.
