Surely that makes you a bona fide BB now bart(bulging trophey cabinet aside) , since you've now literally busted a gut!

And then straight back into it too! Are you sure the names Bart and not Buck?
Think I'll be shattered tomorrow!!

just have to work around this bastard.
well bugger me sideways, a belly button hernia. had discomfort all day, thining it was wind, then on way to Auckland airport to pick up daughter, stop at Autobahn Cafe, have a shit (a strainer, here was the cause!!), carry on to airport, get to airport, realy sore stomach, feel stomach, LUMP by belly button. Poke lump, poke harder, poke it back in behind stomach muscles...

Docs at 4:15 today, trainier, bless her heart tells me I am getting old!! Also no abs, and no deadlifts.

So uppsed reps today on leg day, lowered weights, and was sweet as a nut. Also wore belt while squatting as a precaution!!

SO all good, I just now have a fucking hernia!!

Deano Bravo, you've had more hernia's than hot dinners - what's the go...?
Did you buy something at the Autobahn cafe Bart or just use the facilities ? some staff get a bit tetchy if you just go in there with no intention of lining their pockets !

I have had two or three hernias and other operations on my core. The only Hernia which was bad was sort out at the same time as operating on my belly button. They just pushed it back at the same time. My son has abelly button hernia now but not bad. it is just a lump that he finds funny and shows everyone. Not much you can do with them if they are small. Hopefully hoding in in and time will allowthe lining to fix itself up. I agree with Tressa, with your hernia and my slipped disk in my back we must be getting old. Too much hard work and heavy tackles over the years are catching up now.

looks like abs are back on the menu boys (bastardised quote from LOR trilogy)...

lying down on my back watching TV last night in an exhausted state (as you do), and lifted my head (strain on abs), and then lifted more as if I was doing a sit up. held for 30 seconds, hand on hernia 'hole', just in case. But no bulge tring to break through, and activated all stomach, lower and upper.

So that is one exercise that I can do for starters - hooray!

My abs workout might be OK for your hole. I am starting with cable crunchs and then a series of front and side planks holding for as long as I can. This workout is superseted and the burn is fairly good.

I might get time to do abs on Sat with you as this is my normal day for them.

I had one a bit lower down (in groin area). Needed to have it operated on. The operation was easy, but fuck me it was painful to do anything that involves using your ab muscles for a while.

right, I went and saw Doctor Mohammed Al Askari (or something like that), and will operate on me in early June - on my request. That is after the Auckland and Australian BB Champs, but before the Waikato comp.

Reckons a week recovery. Not using the mesh thing - just a centimetre incision, poke the guts back into me, and stitch me up - all under a local.

SO bashing on regardless with training until then, wish me luck!

too small for the mesh the doc said, almost not worth doing the op at all. So this morning hammered my abs, and no problems - I'm just a wuss!

ACC Kirwan - my GP said I'd be lucky top get them to accept the claim, as most hernias aren't 'accidents', but obviously my "doing cable crunches, sharp pain in abdomen' call worked...!!! We'll take it anyway !! Instead of the stomach stapling!

Hernia be damned, it is now full speed ahead with ab work, feeling fine. Just concentrating on CONTROL CONTROL CONTROL in all movements, but feels great to be getting the ABs back on deck and working again!

Hernia schmerina, who needs a weight belt. My little alien just part of the package now.

Great chest session today, machine press to start, with the 4 second decent of the weight, 4 sets, 12,10,8,6 with the weight going up each set.

Then decline bench, same sets and reps, finishing on 100kg, first time into three figures on a chest exercise since Adam was a cowboy. Only managed three full reps, and then 7 'pulses' weight coming down about three or for inches to the point you know that if you go any lower, it ain't coming back up!!

then incline dumbell press, same reps and sets, finishing with 30kg DBs. hardest thing here is getting the bloody weights up ready to press - with a dodgy left shoulder, my only worry, but there you go, you gotta do what you gotta do!

Cable flies, and then flat bench to finish the workout off - failing on the flat bench at 80kg!! four reps and half a dozen pulses!

but all good. CHeck out the gorilla I have to beat in Auckland in a few weeks - http://www.gofigure.co.nz/doc/content/view/976/29/ - used to own the Whagamata gym, a mate of mine, who as yet does not know I've jumped up to physique! Gulp!

I currently weighing in at 91 odd kg, have a four pack (two bottom abs still in hibernation), traniner has me eating like a mad man. But skinfold measurements all good very lean, just feel fat! A far cry from the 78kg comp weight last year. think I'll be mid to early 80s when I lean down for Oz, and probably a bit more for AUckland in 7 weeks - aiming to peak for the Oz comp, lots of goodies to be won there, including a trip to compete in Vegas!!

Will get the Mrs to take some photos. It's not fair at the moment, she is leaning down, and looking like an anatomy lesson, while I am not - she calls me Fatty Booomsticks!!
