    SS1 6:20pm on Feb 4th

Chiefs announced their travelling squad a few days ago:

    1. Naitoa Ah Kuoi
    2. Kaylum Boshier
    3. George Dyer
    4. Samipeni Finau
    5. Luke Jacobson
    6. Hamilton Burr
    7. Simon Parker
    8. Manaaki Selby-Rickit
    9. Bradley Slater
    10. Samisoni Taukei’aho
    11. Tevita Ofa
    12. Jimmy Tupou
    13. Tupou Vaa’i
    14. Malachi Wrampling
    15. Sione Ahio
    16. Liam Coombes-Fabling
    17. Tom Florence
    18. Josh Ioane
    19. Kauvaka Kaivelata
    20. Anton Lienert-Brown
    21. Peniasi Malimali
    22. Damian McKenzie
    23. Rameka Poihipi
    24. Cortez Ratima
    25. Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi
    26. Xavier Roe
    27. Daniel Rona
    28. Wallace Sititi
    29. Quinn Tupaea
    30. Cody Nordstrom
    31. Josh Jacomb
    32. Millennium Sanerivi
    33. Tana Tuhakaraina
    34. Riley Hohepa
    35. Aidan Ross
    36. Jared Proffit
    37. Reuben O’Neill
    38. Ollie Norris

The Cross-Border games will be played over normal 40-minute halves, but the Chiefs were successful with their request for the teams to field expanded match-day squads of 27, and therefore allowing for 12, as opposed to eight, substitutions

@Bovidae Great to see Tupaea back on deck and looking forward to seeing young Malachi Wrampling at this level. I have a thought that in time he might be the next big thing at number eight.

@Daffy-Jaffy Yeah, no.8 is definitely Wrampling's best position. I've seen him play there since his time at St Paul's. He is young enough to still play for the NZ U20s this year.

I assume Parker starts next weekend.

The Boshier brothers get to play against each other. Maybe a first for them?

Considering they are one of the top teams in Japan, I'm surprised by the lack of superstar names (apart from Koroibete of course).

Tough test first game back for Tupaea, marking a quality midfield of De Allende and Riley.

Wild Knights chasers all offside before that kick and the resulting penalty.

This ref is horrible lmao. I know it's preseason but he's not giving any ruck penalties.

We do have a few meatheads in NZ rugby. Dumb play.

Well that was a tough one to watch as a Chiefs fan. End of the day, it was just a preseason. Onwards and upwards.

I only watched a bit, what I saw it looked a typicl preseason game, no real connections in defence etc, almost like the team has just been concentrating on fitness etc at training?? Over the years I must admit the number of preseason hit outs that have looked impressive are pretty low in number.
