I assume:
The war in Gaza is not about Netanyahu. It is not even about Israel in itself. It is about the future of the West.
I agree with this. But not in the way Jake thinks. Or at least is paid to promote.
My view is the West and Israel have destroyed themselves. The rest are just sitting back and watching as they do it.

Interesting read. Although given the author is the writer of Israelaphobia it might just be him trying to turn the PR side of it around. Either that, or garner more support of "The West" by stating that if they lose, then the West has lost everything.
He is correct in that Hamas has won the PR side of it. Although I'm not sure Israel literally flattening so much of Gaza has really meant they had to do anything.
The situation is completely hopeless. I draw some hope in that the peace talks seem to actually be moving & that the US has moved away from its unequivocal stance.
Little, though.

Is it possible to summarize how you’ve reached your conclusion? And maybe provide a timeline for when the West’s self-destruction will be apparent to those of us not paying quite such close attention?

- Too much tolerance of different cultures incompatible with Western culture
- Rigid, firm and pointless insistence on DEI.
- Saying that "if you import the third world, you become the third world" is racist.
- Sidelining people who hold above 3 views by insulting their intelligence
Countless other reasons, but thats a quick summary. Almost all friction inside countries at the moment is due to the above. And whilst those in power continue to pander to the people holding opposing views it will get considerably worse.
And then suddenly, the votes will go strongly against and the population and power holders will be confused as fuck. See Italy, Netherlands, Trump as the first 3 examples to go.
EDIT. Oh and lack of application on the issues actually affecting the real people of the country. Why are Trans < 0.01% of a country, but seemingly 50% of the debate?

Alleged? Is Rod taking the piss?
I don't quite understand what Israel is up to. They are being cartoonishly evil and don't seem to give a fuck.
It's a very strange world right now.

So, Iran has their consulate / Embassy destroyed and they must not do anything. Just take the hits and deaths. If they retaliate, Iran I assume will have started the war.
The West is like a bully who punches and destroys and provokes but then points the finger when anyone responds.
You'll no doubt be pleased that Iran is starting WW3 in retaliation for having it's peace loving diplomatic core targeted.
"Dozens" of UAVs on way to Israel.

The US (not Israel) shot them down it seems.
As expected, this was a test with slow-moving drones that gave hours to respond, but now Iran knows the US shot the drones down – not Israel. U.S. defense announced that they shot down the drones. The official statement: the U.S. continues to “shoot down Iranian-launched drones targeting Israel.” They added, “Our forces remain postured to provide additional defensive support and to protect U.S. forces operating in the region.”
The British Royal Air Force has now also been deployed to the Middle East, and they too are prepared to intercept any Iranian drones headed to Israel, announced the U.K.’s Secretary of State for Defense Grant Shapps.

Any chance Israel is trying to provoke Iran, so as to pull the West into the war to help them? (I never read about this, just a thought)
I reckon. The only question is who is driving it. Israel or the US neocons. Sadly, the profits from war are just too good. And not just for the MIC.

They're fighting Hamas, I don't think they need help.

Probably just part of the proxy war and the IDF taking out people it thinks is supporting Hamas. Iran may well have blundered in attacking Israel directly - now harder to hide its intentions behind its proxies.
Interesting that countries like Jordan helped Israel out in defeating the Iranian attack.

And Saudi Arabia. Obvious Shia vs Sunni split, but to me it's clearly indicative of the maturity in the Middle East for certain States to recognise the benefit of diplomatic relations, trade and peace in the region while they fight rebels and worry about sub-Sahara encroaching on them.

Let me rephrase, as a strategy for the West to get into a war with Iran.

Currently Biden is President of the USA, so there's no such strategy.

I've read a school of thought that any war would create huge dissent in Iran and it's leadership wouldn't last long. Not sure it's the West who'd be directly involved though.

In his moments of senility? Either way, the clear policy of his administration is not to pursue a war with Iran.
