Heard Shaun Stevenson is still flirting with the NRL and heard something about the Western Force being after him.

Not even the Tigers would take him.

This version from The Post doesn't seem to be paywalled. A story about Trask and his persistent groin injury.

Jeez if the Force are looking at him I hope the Canes are.

@Bovidae Thanks for the article, interesting read. That must’ve been a very challenging time for Trask, not just the obvious injury concerns but changing the mechanics of his running and stepping as well.

Trask has been going very well in his first few games at ten, I feel. I always thought he might be better suited to fullback but he has shown a very nice balance in his run, pass, kick options against Waikato and North Harbour. He’s directing things well. Hopefully his injury concerns are behind him and he should have a great contest with Jacomb for that back-up spot to McKenzie next season.

This signing had been rumoured. Carter will provide some X-factor. He probably takes Malimali's place in the squad.

Looking forward to seeing how he goes in SR. He has a good edge to his game.. knows how far to push things

Good to see McMillan mention his ability to play halfback too. That could be really useful in a 6/2 bench

My thoughts too. Carter needs to play more at halfback for BOP though.

SS as your last line of defence in league? Might as well just give him a red carpet and give up the charade of cover defending.

Carter had signed months before the Olympics so knew that was going to be the end of his sevens career.

Not sure whether it has been announced on this thread yet but Brumbie's player Jahrome Brown is apparently heading to the Chiefs next year based on the below article.

@Canes4life leaked by a commentator on the AOP but good to see it in writing. Surprised he didn't suit up for Waikato this year.

    @gt12

We aren't bringing back the old man from Taranaki this year

I'll reply here. The short answer is, no idea. I've never seen any new contract info about Kaylum Boshier. The most recent was that he was signed until 2023.

Here are the other loose forwards:

Wallace Sititi, Luke Jacobson - signed to 2025
Samipeni Finau, Simon Parker - signed to 2026
    Malachi Wrampling-Alec - unknown
    Jahrome Brown - TBC

Boshier is unneeded then, they'd be mad not to sign Mathis as the backup 7 behind Jacobson.
I wonder whether we can keep all those other quality young guys.
    Let's hope so.

That draw is a little gross for the Chiefs. 3x derbies + 2x trip to the Pacific Islands with the Brumbies in between in their first six, and three away derbies in their last four.
